Author's Notes: This is another installment to my More than series. I hope you like this one. This is like a companion or side fics to the others in the series. Although, this can stand alone.
Dedication: To Reeza, for bearing with me all the shit life has. And for being with me when "you-know-who" was with us.

More than logic
Data provided him a lot of information about a lot of people. It made him a wonderful manager and trainer for the team. It made him a very reliable person, in and out of the courts.
But it was also because of these data that he collected all over the years that his heart was aching.
Inui shook his head. Hasty Generalization.
He didn't know how it happened. He didn't even see it coming. He was just watching the new members that year when one particular freshman caught his eyes.
Kaidoh was feisty, gruff and yet he respected his sempai. Even in his first year in Seigaku, he had been like that. And even at that age, he was rivals with Momoshiro.
He had found it amusing how those two always tried to outdo each other. Momoshiro never failed to get to Kaidoh's bad side. And Kaidoh, on the other hand, had an unbelievable short temper when it came to the spiky haired lad.
A small smile escaped his lips. Come to think about it, Kaidoh was never particularly friendly with anyone except him. He suddenly felt special.
And in feeling special, he knew that something always resulted in it.
Inui gritted his teeth. Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc.
Why, why was he beginning to commit so many fallacies when it concerned Kaidoh? Why was Kaidoh making him feel this way? Why was it that when Kaidoh was concerned, all his data was useless? Why was he becoming so illogical when it came to Kaidoh?
Kaidoh, Kaidoh, Kaidoh. It was always Kaidoh. There was no other person who could make him feel like what he was feeling now. Only Kaidoh could do so.
He hit a very fast ball across the court, causing Fuji – his practice partner – to be surprised. Argumentum Ad Ignorantiam.
"Inui, is everything alright? You seem quite off-beat today."
He stole a glance at the object of his thoughts who stood on the next court. He shrugged at Fuji. "I'm ok. Let's get on with the game."
The tensai just smiled and returned to the opposite of the court. Inui served again.
The thing was, even though he had complete access to Kaidoh and his data, he had no access to the junior's heart. As funny as it may be, the bandanna boy fell for the last person in Inui's data that he could fall for.
He could've been happy for him, really he could. Only if Kaidoh was happy.
But he wasn't. Kaidoh was running a journey with no particular goal ahead. And all Inui could do was support him silently. Be by his side, offer his advices. Smile when Kaidoh needed it, listen when Kaidoh said nothing but spilt his heart out in his own silent way.
He sighed. He wanted to rip his notebook apart. All the data in it were useless. Not one could make Kaidoh see that it was him who stopped, it was him who waited, it was him who ran with him all the way. Logically, he was supposed to be the one.
But, he thought, love was something more than logic could explain or justify. That he knew without any fallacies.
One hundred percent.
