Chapter 1: A New Home
Roxie's POV
I just got to my dorm, my new home here at Kadic Jr. High. Not like I had any choice. Mom's working here in the Reading Department. My cousin, Ulrick, & his friends seem nice enough.
Has it only been a few days? I wondered. That horrible accident with Dad, was only a few days ago?
It was no secret back home in New York. My dad was drunk. Dad & I had a father-daughter day when it happened. I wore my seat belt, but Dad didn't. Between the 2 of us, I'm the only surviver.
Ulrick didn't his uncle (my dad) very well. But this is hard for me. I picked up a book I had to read, called "I Think My Name is Amy." I had to read up to chapter 2. I just hope that I can make Paris my new home.
