Prongs made me do it. -Moony
Showdown

The street looked deserted. After everything they had been through, Voldemort, James and Lily dying, Sirius, it had all lead back to here. Nearly 18 years later, once again on All Saints Day, they were back here.
Harry couldn't help but look around, imagine what had happened. After leaving him with Hagrid, Sirius Black had chased one of his oldest friends to this place, pointed his wand at him, and tried to kill him. But instead of killing him, he had missed, a battle erupted. People died and buildings crumbled, and in the end the wrong man went to jail, the other getting away with one less finger.
But now they were back here, a little over a year after Harry had killed Voldemort in an all out fight inside Hogwarts' very walls. Of course Pettigrew escaped and Harry had been chasing him since, not willing to end his fight against the dark until the Second Marauder was brought to his knees.
And so he had followed him, through Wales, Scotland, London, Surrey, everywhere, just trying to get that one shot; now it came. They were standing in the street, Harry facing Peter, who was cowering like the slimy rat he was.
"Please, please don't," his voice quivered, barely a whisper.
"You deserve it!" Harry screamed, raising his wand.
"Harry, don't!" Remus Lupin said, resting his hand on Harry's tense shoulder.
"Why not? He betrayed us all! He deserves to dye!" Harry said, the anger showing in his voice.
"He does. But not by you, by me. I should have known. He betrayed my friends, he betrayed me. I let him go, simply by a weakness. I won't do it again. Harry, you've killed too many times for someone so young. Don't do it again. Let me kill him," Remus whispered, low enough so that even the rat's exceptional ears couldn't make out what he said.
Harry lowered his wand, and with a flash of green, only one Marauder was left. Taking a deep breath, Master Moony walked away, leaving the spirits of Padfoot and Prongs smiling at their revenge.
