Memories, like a sunset, slowly fade away.
The things you used to say
Are becoming forgotten in my head.
The starlit sky reminds me of you.
It reminds me of your eyes, a haunting shade of blue.
I remember how we would play,
We would each and every day.
Our lives were carefree, simple and clean.
And I remember our dream.
A dream of seeing new worlds, far away from here.
We wanted away from the things we held dear.
So we built a ship, and gathered supplies,
And on our last day, we watched the sky.
That day changed our lives, and they would never be the same.
All of our adventures before then now seem a bit lame.
We've been through so much, and there's so more to come.
It's been so long that I almost forgot your promise, but not the memories we shared.
I wish I knew how much you cared.
But now, I'm alone, and you're nowhere to be found.
Even if it were for only a day, I wish you would come around.
But instead the days fly on by, and you're still not here.
Your absence has planted inside of me a seed of fear.
I'm afraid you'll never come home.
I wonder what the lands are like where you roam.
Or if you are still alive.
I took my daily walk down the street,
Seeing how many new guys I would meet.
They all seem to love me now,
Why, I don't really know how.
If only you could see our home.
My walk today brought about a new sight,
Something that turned out to be a great delight.
There you were, looking totally lost.
Didn't you think our island would grow?
I screamed your name, and ran to you.
You seemed happy to see me too.
Everyone around us began to stare,
As we leapt into each other's arms without a care.
Oh how I've missed you, you have no idea.
Now we can continue our lives, this time together.
We're going to stay together forever.
Nothing will ever pull us apart,
For we are connected at the heart.
