.:.Prologue- A secret goodbye.:.
As the glowing crescent moon extended its rays into the cosy bedroom, the door leisurely opened. The girl lightly manoeuvred her way to his bed. When she finally reached the single bed, she softly knelt down beside him. He lay fast asleep. Facing her, his angelic face totally oblivious to her presence. She gazed at his visage, which was illuminated by the pale moonlight. She stroked the hair away from his face so she could have her final look. Tears started brimming in her eyes.
"I'm so sorry. I don't mean to make you worry. I hope you'll never forget me. I will always love you no matter where I am"
She wiped her face. By now the tears rained down from her dark eyes. She leant over and kissed his forehead.
"Goodbye Haruya. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."
With that whisper, she stood up and placed a note on his feather pillow. Her heart was aching. She couldn't bare leaving her little brother. He'd always been there for her. Sure they had their little squabbles but they would always make up and be closer than ever before. Often they'd hug and give little kisses on each other's cheek. They were frighteningly close for brother and sister. Now that would disappear-forever. Memories flashed before her. She had to leave. Winning Battle Royale less than two weeks ago had left her in a bad situation. Everyone was shocked to see her back, to see her win. She couldn't stand it anymore. She had to go, now. Saki left the room and Haruya's life… for good.
The gentle light from the sunrise sprawled into the bedroom. Tentatively, Haruya opened his eyes and glanced around the room. Something didn't seem right. He felt strange. He sat up in his bed and he heard a piece of paper descend onto the floor. Leaning over his bed, Haruya stretched to reach the note. Picking it up, he sat back up in his bed. Opening the note, the handwriting was immediately recognisable. He read the message.
'I'm so sorry Haruya. I will always love you. Forgive me. Thinking of you forever.'
He sighed deeply. What did it mean? Why is she sorry? She hasn't done anything wrong! Has she? Suspiciously, Haruya ran downstairs to check if she was there to explain. She wasn't. Looked outside to she if she was in the garden. She wasn't. finally he ran to her room and opened the door to see all her clothes scattered on the floor. She wasn't there. He saw her diary on the bed and began reading, in sign of a clue.
Dear diary,
I'll be leaving tomorrow. I have no choice. I can't live like this. I'm afraid of hurting my parents and Haruya. They can't know I've left otherwise they'll stop me. Well, gotta go.
SakiIt was all making sense.
"Saki…" Haruya whimpered. "Why?" He looked back at the note in his hand. A single tear fell down his cheek. He was devastated. What would he do now?
