Author's note: I know this really doesn't have to do with the story of Wolf's Rain but I just really liked it.
The Sounding of the Call
The forest quivers with fright.
Dear run for cover and birds take flight.
With a coat of silver and eyes of gold,
The wolves appeared, so strong, so bold.
But one stood out more with his crimson stare,
Bringing the world to silence with one cold glare.
Then to declare his presence he looked to the sky
And filled the air with his mournful cry.
As if on cue the rest followed along,
Giving the world their famous wolf song.
