Disclaimer: I do not own The Outsiders or the song "Predictable".
Summary: Not everyone tells the truth. Dallas Winston knows that better than anyone. (Songfic for "Predictable" by Good Charlotte)
Rating: PG-13
Predictable
Dallas Winston took a deep breath, icy blue optics still getting used to the darkness of his jail cell. All was quiet, as usual. He sat on the bed that hung from the side of the wall, staring at the empty gaps between the bars.
:: Something isn't right,
I can feel it again, feel it again
This isn't the first time that you left me waiting
Sad excuses and false hopes high
I saw this coming, still I don't know why
I let you in . . .
I knew it all along,
You're so predictable.
I know something would go wrong.
So you don't have to call,
Or say anything at all.
You're so predictable. ::
Dally deserved everything he got—except for this. "That lyin', cheatin'. . ." he cussed under his breath, clenching his fist.
:: So take your empty words,
Your broken promises;
And all the time you stole,
'Cause I am done with this. ::
It took him a minute or two to calm down and for his breathing to return back to normal. "So this is what I get, huh?" the 17-year old stood up. "It's what you wanted, huh?!"
:: I could give it away, give it away;
I'm doing everything I should've.
And now I'm making a change,
I'm living today.
I'm giving back what you gave me;
I don't need anything. ::
"I should'a never trusted that chick," he muttered. It was her who got him there. It'd been a normal night at the Nightly Double. The two were hunting for action when she decides she wants to drink. Naturally, Dally agrees, but that's the last he could really remember. The rest was all a blur—there were red and blue lights.
Hurriedly, she explained to the police that it was all Dally's fault, even though it wasn't. She lied that she was some kind of hostage or something. Dally wasn't listening because his head was pounding like heck. Even though her story was cheap, the police believed it anyway—they thought everything was possible with Dallas.
"I knew it . . ." his eyes flickered with anger. "I knew it . . ."
:: I knew it all along,
You're so predictable.
I knew something would go wrong.
So you don't have to call,
Or say anything at all.
You're so predictable. ::
There was the sound of footsteps. Visiting hour? She came, and all Dally could do was glare coldly at her.
:: I knew it all along,
You're so predictable.
I knew something would go wrong.
So you don't have to call,
Or say anything at all.
You're so predictable . . . ::
And all she did was smile a devilish smile. And just like that, it was immediately over. Just like that.
:: Everywhere I go for the rest of my life,
Everyone I love,
Everyone I care about,
They're all gonna want to know what's wrong with me,
And I know what it is.
And I'm ending it right now. ::

Author Notes: Awh, poor Dally! It actually wasn't his fault this time. Oo; Odd. And it wasn't Two-Bit breaking a window. Anyway, I know I skipped one of thespoken parts of the story. I didn't know where to put it. Heh. Yeah. Anyway, please review and tell me what you thought! And yes, I know there are more song parts than actual story parts. xX; Songfics aren't really my thing, as you can see.
