'Twas the Night Before Christmas

TEASER: The Las Vegas Crime Lab never sleeps, not even on Christmas

DISCLAIMER: Last time I checked, the evidence was stacked against me in my claim to own even a single stock option in the many partners who make up the CSI franchise. If I did, there would be a few things different on the show – but then what fun would it be to write fanfic for us GS/WC shippers?

RATING: G

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is with apologies to both Clement Clarke Moore, to whom the poem "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" was originally attributed, and to Major Henry Livingston, Jr., to whom some people now attribute the original. This came to me as I walked from my office to my mechanic's garage this afternoon and I had to put it on paper so I could get on with other things.

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through Sin City
The casinos were hopping so folks could win pretty.
One armed bandits were pulled with great fervor and care
Saint Martin Caballero, please visit them there!

The Las Vegas Crime Lab was busy as ever,
For murder and mayhem aren't quiet, no never.
Two lonely people, our Sara and Gil,
Worked on their cases with consummate skill.

Out in the lobby there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their desks to see what was the matter.
Away to the hallway they flew in a flash
But came to a halt before signs of a bash.

Their stockings were hung on the break room's worn chair,
And Christmas lights twinkled with holiday flair.
A sign on the table read, "Grissom, look up."
And one just next to it read, "Sara, get close up."

Amused and befuddled our two CSI's
Followed their orders so as not to defy.
Over their heads hung green mistletoe
Each saw the other blush – oh, what a glow!

"May I kiss you?" Gil asked, and took her in hand.
Sara responded, "Oh, that would be grand."
The whooping of many a well-wishing friend
Just couldn't bring that kiss to an end.

The rest of this tale is not to be told,
At least not to those who aren't so old.
For two lonely people, our Sara and Gil,
This Christmas was merry with many a thrill!
