Summery: Harry just discovered the key to defeating Voldemort, and he found it in his sock drawer. Dumbledore gave him a shard from The Mirror of Erised at the hospital, (and a pair of woolen socks) and with the help of his friends, Harry should be able to vanquish You-Know-Who by time the year ends.

The Mirror of Erised

The golden light of the fire flooded every nook and cranny of the room as I sauntered amidst all of my trinkets collected over the years. I was looking for something. It had just occurred to me the other day that what I needed was with me all along.

I filtered through my priceless novelties to seek the one I needed now. The Mirror. Not just any Mirror, but the Mirror of Erised. The Mirror of Desire. Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi: I show not your face but your hearts desire. Professor Dumbledore showed me this naught but six years ago, give or take.

I found, with my presents, a shard of The Mirror wrapped in a pair of socks, along with a note written in a long, thin, scrawled handwriting that said, "Harry, You have defeated Voldemort with your pure heart and moral mind. You deserve a bit of your own heart's desire. -Albums Dumbledore"

This time, I have no wish to seek a stone, or see my parents. This time, I will rid the world of an evil man; Voldemort.

Voldemort killed my parents, and I vanquished him with my scar as my only souvenir. Then, I prolonged his return to full power using the love my mother gave me as protection before she died. That was in first year, the same year I learned of the Mirror. In second year, I defeated Tom Riddle, or young Voldemort, using the Basilisk fang intended to kill me. In fourth year, at age 14, I conquered the Tri-Wizard tournament with those two years older than me, at the least, and won. I also, on that very night, saw Him return to flesh and blood. My blood. Fifth year, the most frustrating year yet, I was excluded when I wanted to be involved; The center of attention, again; lost the girl I loved, and my god father.

In first year, Voldemort forgot of the love my mum gave me. In second year he forgot about phoenix tears. In fourth year, he forgot about prior incantatium. Last year, he forgot of my loss I just suffered. He forgot about Sirius.

I did not forget about him. Not when Voldemort possessed me, and not now.

Sirius gave me a mirror, and I think it was for more than just communication. I think it was a clue to help me get back up on my feet and vanquish the Dark Lord.

I rummaged around for a bit, seeing the gifts that I have accumulated over the years. The Sword of Gryffindor, The Marauders Map, and my Invisibility Cloak are my prized possessions, if only I had remembered where I kept that mirror!

Neville once had a rememberall before he lost it, and man do I wish I had one too! Maybe if I just shout "Accio Mirror of Erised!" It will come... or maybe I could look up a spell to find my lost stuff, there must be something like that!
