Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate Atlantis
Note: I was out Christmas shopping today (Really, it was just an excuse to shop) and I thought up this fiction.
Liz stood on the balcony, arms crossed and eyes staring out onto the ocean that surrounded their fair city. It was fairly quiet on the balcony and usually by now, most of the personal would be sleeping, but the thing was that tonight was no regular night. It was New Years Eve and in…Liz looked at her watch…two minutes, 15 seconds, 2004 would leave and 2005 would come upon them.
All the personal were at the party that was currently going on in the Gate room. Ford was trying, and probably failing, to explain to Teyla why people from Earth celebrate the coming of a new year. Peter and Carson were discussing whether Rodney had gotten the right date because the two of them were almost certain that New Year's Day wasn't due for another 2 days. Rodney was trying to track down the person who'd put the lemon chicken with the ordinary chicken. That only left John Sheppard. The man who'd organised this and the one man they couldn't find.
A few members of the personal said he'd ended up in a closet with one of the nurses. Though she was sure that it was just a rumour. Although she wouldn't put it past him.
Liz looked at her watch again 1 minute until 2005. She wondered what this New Year would bring. She just prayed that all the expedition team would be around to see the coming of 2006. She stood there slightly for a few more seconds until she heard the countdown begin led by Ford.
"Wait, guys shut up. 10…9…8…7…6…5…"
An arm came around her waist and a mouth came next to her ear and whispered softly to her.
"4…3…2…"
The arm spun her around so she faced the culprit who had organised the party.
"1… Happy New Year Liz."
John placed his lips tenderly on hers and kissed her as the whole expedition team began to sing 'Auld Lang Syne'.
Liz pulled slightly away from John.
"Happy New Year John."
She smiled and John lent down to kiss her again.
Liz smiled inwards to herself. She had a feeling that this New Year was going to be a good one.
Fin…
Just something, that came to mind. Really, don't even know why I thought of it. Please review and I hope everyone as a good Holiday, Christmas and New Year. I know it's a little early.
