Title: Chosen One

Summary: "Let's just say it's a thank you gift, from one Chosen One to another."

Disclaimer: I own nothing...except the guy who got iced and the vampire.

Author's Notes: I'm really, really bored right now. When I'm bored, I write really bad fanfiction.

Pairing: Buffy Summers/Phoebe Halliwell (friendship)

------------------------------

Buffy Summers swayed to the beat, losing herself in the sound of the music, the feeling of the bodies and the taste and smell of salt and sweat, as well as the faint tingle of magick which seemed unique to P3 San Francisco.

Unfortunately, she wasn't here for fun. Smiling seductively, Buffy leant closer to her dancing partner. "Wanna go outside?" She purred. "It's kind of hot in here."

Jean-Paul grinned. "Sounds good...I could do with a little fresh air myself."

Smirking, Buffy took the vampire by the hand and led him to the alley outside the club.

------------------------------

Phoebe took a sip of her drink, smiling politely as the man in front of her chatted.

"So there we were, facing off, just me and the other team's linebacker. I wasn't sure I was gonna make it, in fact, I was positive I wasn't..."

Phoebe winced, a vision coming over her.

There was a girl out the back of P3. She smiling as she spoke to a man. Suddenly, the man's face changed, and he went to bite her

Phoebe stood up quickly, knocking her ice-cold water all over her companion's lap. "I've gotta go." She blurted out, racing to the scene of the crime. She blinked in surprise at what she saw.

------------------------------

"You know," Buffy said in a conversational manner as she punched the vamp, "I was actually having a fun time here in San Francisco, until I realised there was such a major vampire problem. This is supposed to be my vacation time." She leant in and staked him. "Get the point?" She finished. The vamp exploded into dust, a shocked look on his face.

Buffy sighed. "They never laugh." She complained. "Never."

"It was a good joke, though." A voice said from the doorway.

Buffy whirled around, relaxing when she noted the woman was human...witch, though. Being around Willow as much as she had, Buffy could spot a witch a mile away. "Thanks." She said, smiling. "I try. I'd like to be a stand-up comedian, but the hours get in the way of my Calling."

"You're the Slayer, then." The woman said. "Cool."

"Yeah, Slayer, that's me." Buffy walked over, holding out her hand. "Buffy Summers."

The witch shook it. "Phoebe Halliwell."

"You're one of the owners, then?" Buffy asked, eyebrow raised.

Phoebe nodded. "My sister's the manager. Lemme buy you a drink."

"Ok." Buffy said, following Phoebe back into the club. "Not that I'd ever turn down free alcohol," she began, "but why?"

Phoebe smiled mysteriously. "Let's just say it's a thank you gift, from one Chosen One to another."
