Ron was sitting alone in the Gryffindor common room, reading Quidditch: For Those That Need Help. He flipped through the pages until he came to the section he was looking for, Different Ways to Block a Quaffle; he read at the top of the page. There were little illustrations whizzing around the page, each one showing a different technique for blocking a quaffle.

"Ronald Weasley, is that a book I see in your hands?" Said a voice from behind him;

Ron jumped, accidentally slamming the book closed on his thumb;

"Hermione did you really have to sneak up on me like that?" he said turning towards the bushy haired sixth year.

Hermione pretended to think about it for a few seconds for answering with a very simple;

"Yes". A grin appeared on her face as she went on to say, "Besides, I would have never caught sight of that book you just stuffed under the couch cushion if you had heard me coming".

Ron looked at the lopsided cushion next to him, "Please don't tell anyone", he pleaded.

Hermione wrinkled her brow, "I shouldn't tell anyone you were reading a book?"

Ron gave her an angry glare, "You know what I mean, Hermione, I'm serious".

"Ok, ok, I was just kidding, I promise I won't tell", Hermione was now sitting on the couch, the lopsided cushion being the only separation between Ron and her.

There was a lull in conversation as they both stared straight ahead trying to think of something more to say, Ron shifted his position and absently draped his arm over the back of the couch.

"We must look pretty silly sitting here like this", Hermione said, breaking the silence.

"Huh, what do you mean?" Asked Ron still looking straight ahead;

"Us sitting here with this raised cushion between us", said Hermione looking at the floor.

"Maybe one of us should move it", Ron said quietly and he felt Hermione shift her weight on the couch as she went to move the book. But then he felt something unexpected, Hermione had moved closer and was now on his arm that was still draped across the back of the couch.

"Um, Hermione..." Ron finally turned to face her and immediately reddened.

"Yes Ron", she yawned;

"Never mind", Ron said seeing ho content she looked.

Hermione was soon asleep, and so was Ron's arm, he tried to move it without waking her but she opened eyes, glazed over with sleep and asked, "Is something wrong?"

Ron pulled her up closer so she was now leaning on his shoulder, "no everything is just fine", he whispered.

But Hermione didn't hear him she had already fallen back asleep, and she was smiling, Ron smiled at her sleeping form and held her close, he was suddenly very sleepy. Ron closed his eyes and listened to the rhythm of Hermione's slow and even breathing. "Everything is just as it should be", Ron thought as he slipped of to sleep smiling.
