She cannot tell anybody about the ruse, especially those she loves.

Nobody said it would be easy to flee the Blight, move to a foreign city that doesn't want you, make a name for yourself while avoiding templar scrutiny, avoid getting involved in the beginning of a civil war, get involved anyway, and then solve the foreign city's problems for it even though it didn't want you there. But for sure nobody ever said it would be this difficult.
