The thing that calmed her the mosty, and the only thing that was able to calm her once she awoke from that dream, was the peaceful sound of her lover sleeping beside her. She turned to watch the rise and fall of her chest as she breathed in a slow pattern.
Finally certain that she was safe, and ok in her lovers bed, she lay back down and pulled the covers high up and stared the ceiling. Ever since the final battle, nothing made sense anymore. In fact, being with Hermione was the only thing that Ginny truly understood. She seen most of her friends fall on that day, friends she had for years, she watched Ron fall, her own brother, and watched a few days later as her family was torn apart. Her mother, is barely her cheeful self anymore, her father, usually in high spirits, no longer enjoys his job at the ministry. Fred and George are the only ones in the family, still together and still acting like themselves.
She shifted in bed a bit, the covers getting tangled around her legs, she sighed as she removed them and turned to watch Hermione sleep. As if on cue, her eyes fluttered open,"Gin, what's wrong?"
"Nothing love." she whispered and paused,"Just go back to sleep."
"Did you have that dream again? You know, you really need to put it behind you, that was months ago, you need to move on."
"I know." she sighed. "It's not that easy."
"I know love, but try. I'm always here for you, if you want to talk, you know that right?"
"I know that Mione. I know."
At this point, she turned and pulled her close to her body, hair cascading all around her. Ginny breathed in the scent of her hair, a lovely smell of ginger and kiwi. She began to warm up almost instantly, the goosebumps on her arms disappearing almost immediately. Hermione placed a couple of kisses on her neck and pulled her closer to whisper ever so lightly in her ear,"Everything will be ok. He's gone. I'm sorry Ron is gone, we all loved him, but he died doing something special. You know he'd want to go down that way. "
"I know." she whispered back.
And then, at that very moment, everything seemed right, and so perfect.
