'Boy, am I hungry.' Anna thought while her stomach grumbled. 'And these food commercials aren't helping.' She looked around the house; it was completely void of living creatures, save her. Well, with no one around to do her bidding she would just have to make something herself.
Something simple, that she can whip up fast and eat quickly. Her stomach felt like it would cave in from starvation.
A peanut butter and Fluff sandwich would do the trick. She grabbed the peanut butter, fluff and bread from the cupboard. She then found a knife to spread them.
The peanut butter was a breeze. Soft creamy, smooth peanut butter spread evenly across a fresh slice of bread. Carefully wiping the knife free of peanut butter she moved onto the Fluff.
This proved to be more of a challenge. The sticky marshmallow substance had glued the lid to the jar. Anna gripped the lid tighter and twisted with all her might. Her hands started to get sweaty, and her fingers slipped from the lid.
'Oh, where is that good-for-nothing Yoh when I need him.' She thought. 'Oh, yes, I sent him for fifty laps around the block.' She made another attempt at the fluff jar. Her tummy was rumbling in agony.
Little did she know – for the jar was taking up all her attention- was that Yoh had stopped back at the house. He was only on lap thirteen, but he was getting thirsty. Upon seeing Anna's struggle with the jar he couldn't help but to watch, amused.
Here was Anna, the strong Itako, the Anna who could knock you out with a single punch, succumbing to a sticky jar of fluff. He watched as her arm muscles tightened and her face contorted with frustration. She slammed the jar down on the table. Yoh was surprised, was she giving up? No! She was reaching for the knife.
Thinking of prying the lid off, Anna went after the fluff with the knife. Yoh couldn't stand to watch her struggle anymore. He walked up to her and grabbed her hand, taking the knife gently.
"You could hurt someone with this, ya know?" he said lightheartedly.
Completely startled, Anna looked at him. Then she noticed that he was reaching for the fluff jar. Realizing what Yoh just witnessed she snatched the jar from him, glaring icily.
"No one asked for your help." She stated.
Yoh ignored this comment and just smiled at her. He didn't attempt to snatch it back, he just calmly held out his hand. He waited for Anna to admit that she needed a little help.
She would have been content standing there all day. Clutching the Marshmallow fluff tightly to her chest. But her stomach was screaming out in agony. Her eyes glared into his smiling ones. She did ask for his help though, if only in her mind. But that gave her no reason to show external weakness.
Sensing Anna's fear of looking helpless Yoh stepped forward. "I won't tell anyone." He said quietly. His eyes showed he was telling the truth.
Anna handed him the jar, and in one swift move Yoh had removed the lid.
Anna silently made fluff-n-nutter sandwiches for the both of them. When they finished eating, Anna turned to Yoh.
"How many laps do you have left?" knowing that he couldn't lie to Anna, he answered truthfully.
"Thirty-seven."
"Good. You can add fifty push-ups to that."
Yoh could do nothing but grin, "Yes, Anna." He knew it was her way of saying thank you, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
