Unbelievable.

Absolutely, undoubtedly, unbelievable.

It was supposed to be a simple Duel Monsters game with the Mutt; no duel disks or holographic monsters. Just the cards and our innate skills.

But no, I had lost...to a mediocre duelist.

I never believe that this day would come. I would never have ever fathomed it. I had even made a bet with myself if this improbable event were ever to occur.

I looked over at Jounouchi who had been frozen in position staring down at the board. He was trembling now, a shy, shaky smile spreading across his lips. He raised his head and gave me this look. It made my chest ache to see it. He has been wanting this victory for so long, it looked like achieving it made him feel joy like it was a new way to hurt.

Silently, I rose from my seat and stood with my hand slightly stretched out. Jounouchi hesitated momentarily before rising as well and leaning across my school desk to shake hands with me.

Our hands met firmly. He released his grasp of my hand. I didn't. He looked up; confused and little wary. He should have been as I jerked him, arm and all, across the table.

The clattering sounds of duel cards hitting dirty linoleum underscored the sounds of struggle as I manhandled Jounouchi into my lap. He was growling and cursing me the entire time. It made me wonder if he was like this in bed. I couldn't help the light chuckle that passed my lips.

He slowed his struggle with me, only to give me a strange look. The kind of look you gave crazy people. Maybe I was crazy, but at least I was having fun for once.

I smirked and leaned my lips toward his. He did his best imitation of a startled deer; wide-eyed and frozen. My lips pressed against his, slow and chastely. He responded at first out of surprise, then tentatively as if he was dipping his toe in uncertain waters. As our lips gently parted, Jounouchi stared at me through his eyelashes and asked breathlessly, "What was that for?"

"I won a bet"
