Jack's mission by StevDown
Disclaimer: Plot bunnies attacked me at 4 in the morning and wouldn't let me got until I had written this. As usual, don't own them just playing around with them.
And now, onward!
Jack O'Neill moved throw the corridors of the SGC with all the stealth that his black op training and years of being in places that other people didn't want him to be in, doing things that would have got him killed if he was found. Silently, he walked up to the door of the room holding his objective. This mission had started when the SF on duty had brought it to his attention that one of his science twins had not left the mountain all night.
He slowly opened the door to see his worst fear had happened and Jack muttered one of the more interesting insults he had learned under his breath. Sam Carter was fast asleep, her head lying on top of the keyboard. Jack's expert gaze looked around the room checking that nothing was out of place. Seeing nothing was out of place Jack walked over to her desk and saw the reason for this all night session, a device that Jack suspected of being some sort of portable power generator that SG-15 had brought back with them from PLS-758. Jack grinned, as memories from a past life resurfaced. A life that usually involved paperclips and duct tape. Shaking away those thoughts jack slowly put away the device and after that saved Sam's work on her computer. Now this was the difficult part, Jack slowly moved Sam into a position where he could pick her up and carry her. As he stood up with Sam in his arms, she let out a sigh and relaxed against him. After jack's heart had stopped hammering against his chest he got ready for the most difficult part of the mission. After all it wouldn't be good if the commanding officer of the SGC was found carrying His 2IC asleep in his arms.
This was always the most nerve-racking part of the mission. Jack glanced around the corner and seeing nobody there, moved to the door to Sam's on base quarters. As he entered her quarters and closing the door Jack relaxed the worst was over. Laying Sam down on the bed he brushed a strand of hair away from Sam's forehead and allowed himself to show his feelings for her. He only spoke two words "Goodnight Carter." But in those two words was everything that he felt for her. With that Jack left.
As soon as the door shut, Sam Carter smiled and went back to sleep.
