"Come on Seto, if you don't hurry up we'll be late!"

Kaiba frowned. How in the world had that blond-haired mutt convinced him to do something as absurd as fishing off a jetty anyway? He was just glad Yugi couldn't come. Kaiba would have rather jumped off a bridge than go fishing with Yugi. It was below his dignity to go fishing at all let alone fishing with a spiky-haired, frog-eyed brat. And why did they have to walk down to the jetty? It would have been much quicker to travel by car, and besides people would see them walking down the street with fishing gear in their hands. Well, the gear was in Jou's hands anyway; Kaiba would not be seen dead going down the main street holding fishing gear. He scowled again as Jou doubled back to tell Seto to hurry up once more. At last they arrived at the jetty, and Kaiba very reluctantly helped Jou to set up the gear. They put the bait on the rods, which Kaiba found very disgusting, and put the lines into the water. Jou set up two of those folding deck chairs for them to sit on, and half-filled the chilly bin with water to put the fish that they caught in. They both sat down to wait for some fish to start nibbling at the bait. They sat there for a few minutes, and then Jou tried to start a conversation up with Kaiba.

"So, did you see that duel that was on yesterday? I mean, it was pretty hard to tell who would win at first, but I knew that other guy was going to win the whole time."

"I don't waste my time watching amateurs duel."

There was silence for another few minutes.

"Well, there's nothing like a good day of fishing with your friend, right Seto?"

"I wouldn't call a day of fishing 'good' at all."

"Oh."

It stayed that way pretty much the rest of the day, with Jou's attempts at starting a conversation interrupted only by the checking of lines, rebaiting of hooks, and Seto pulling in fish. It came towards the change of tide, and Seto knew that not even an idiot like Jou would try to fish at low tide. He started to pack up the gear as Jou went to the toilet, but left the rods in the water so there would be more chance of catching another fish. Suddenly Seto's rod bowed, and he hurried over to pull in the huge fish that was on the other end. He knew Jou had not caught a fish all day, and he furtively checked behind him to make sure he wasn't coming back yet. Then he pulled up Jou's rod, pulled off the bait and put the fish on the hook. He threw it back in, and quickly put his rod away and wiped his hands on a patch of grass. Jou came back, and as soon as he saw his rod rocking back and forth he ran over.

"Gee Seto, don't do me any favours by pulling in the fish for me."

"I didn't."

"Wow, look at this Seto, it's huge!"

"Well that's sure the highlight of my day." He said in a monotonic voice.

Jou, ignoring the sarcasm, excitedly put the fish in the chilly bin, grabbed it, and started to run home with his rod still in his hands. Seto smiled to himself at the thought of Jou bragging for days about the big fish he caught, and the look that would be on his face when Seto told him how gullible he was.

Then again… maybe he wouldn't tell him after all.
