Comfort

Disclaimer: I don't own Lord of The Rings

Sam was walking down the hall. He heard the sound of Frodo crying and the comforting words of Rosie.

"There, there Frodo. It's all right. Shhh."

Sam walked into the study. There he saw Rosie holding Frodo in her arms like a hobbit child. Frodo was crying. Sam felt pity for Frodo in his heart. He knelt down in front of him and touched his arm with his hand.

She looked at Sam. "He won't tell me what's wrong," she said sadly.

"What's the matter Mr. Frodo? Tell your Sam what's wrong," he said in a kind voice."

He lifted the smaller hobbit and placed him on his lap. He wrapped his arms around Frodo and comforted him.

Frodo nestled comfortably against Sam's chest and continued to cry.

"Shhh. There, there Frodo dear. Please tell your Sam what's wrong," he said soothingly. He gave Frodo a kiss on the cheek.

Frodo said nothing and continued to cry. Sam brushed the curls off his far head and combed his hair with his fingers. Then he started to rock him back and forth.

"I have to go check on lunch and on the children. If lunch is ready, I'm going to wake them up from their nap. Will you two be alright?"

"Yes we will manage Rosie dear."

They give each other a quick kiss on the lips. Then she left the room.

"Won't you tell your Sam what's wrong?"

Frodo started to speak. "The r ring. It's all my fault. Sam I'm so s sorry. I claimed the ring. I failed you all."

" No you didn't. It is not your fault Frodo dear, the ring took control of you. You couldn't help it when you claimed it.

"I feel like it is my own fault."

"No Frodo, it is not. You are a good hobbit. You risked your life to save middle earth from Sauron. Because of your innocence, you have resisted the ring longer than anybody else, but the ring was too strong for you and so it claimed you."

"You made me feel much better Sam. Thank you for your kindness. You are the best friend I can every have."

"Lunch is ready!" Rosie called out.

"Come on Frodo. We are having mushroom soup."

Frodo and Sam joined Rosie and the children at the table. On the table were five bowls of mushroom soup, fresh bread, and a pitcher of fruit punch.

"You look so much better Frodo," Rosie commented.

"I feel better thanks to both of you."

Frodo and Sam's family were enjoying themselves at the table. They were talking and laughing with each other while eating lunch.
