Disclaimer: I don't own Lost or Evanescence's song "Imaginary".(Im well aware that I've left out the chorus. I'm going on assumption that the author can take that liberty?)

A/N: First attempt at a songfic... It could be scary...But bear with me ok?

Am I Dreaming? Claire wonders as she pushes back the covers and wanders through the dark jungle. I must be, she concludes as the moon rises. This isn't normal. She can see the moon moving, it's rising so fast... And yet.. She can feel the soft breeze on her face and smell the salty air of the nearby ocean.

I linger in the doorway, of alarm clock screaming monsters calling my name...

The uncertainty and dark essence of the island folds back like a curtain, and Claire sees the ancient beauty in the truth. Pure as untouched snow, good and evil is but a shadow from the world around this sacred place. The shadow cannot reach the island. A cradle for beginnings, with a wall holding back reality.

Let me stay...Where the wind will whisper to me, where the raindrops as their falling tell a story.

There is no evil here.. Claire knows as she closes her eyesTheir own imaginations and knowledge has led them astray... To look beyond their fear and all they have ever learned, and ever known, would be allowing themselves to see what the island really is. Their own garden of Eden.Claire thinks for a moment on the tall city buildings and smoky gray haze of the world she left behind the moment the plane crashed...

Don't say I'm out of touch with this rampant chaos your reality.. I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge, the nightmare I built my own world to escape...

The core of the island... What it was before it was thought to be anything else, is pure existence. Existence unhindered or bothered by time or darkness. Unburdened by man. Pure light filters into Claire's eyes now, a white light like nothing she had ever seen before... Yet it is familiar.. She thinks for a moment and cannot take her eyes off of theradiance in the distance... Yes, yes she has seen this before, once in a dream... A long-forgotten dream.

Swallowed up in the sound of my screaming, cannot cease for the fear of silent nights.. Oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming, the goddess of imaginary light.

And then Claire wakes.
