AN: Another Christmas Time thing. Popular belief is wrong... I hate christmas time but... I can write about it. This has no pairing... which is new for me. Feedback is apprechiated.
"There, there. Nothing to worry about."
Okay so that line alone coming from Jack's mouth could have caused everyone to stare at the hard-assed Colonel... at any other time that was.
"No, no. Jack you have to sound more sincere."
Jack rolled his eyes at his best friend, "For cryin' out loud Dan-."
Sam immediately interrupted her CO before he could continue, "Daniel, I don't know about this... I'm not a big-."
Daniel huffed a little, cutting Sam off before continuing talking, "Sam come on. I get enough whining from the hard ass over there."
Daniel pointed to Jack as he said this, just to get his point across.
"Danny it's a play!"
All four of the SGC's number one team was sitting at Jack's apartment reading over a little something Daniel had found the time to come up with. Jack sat on his couch while Daniel stood in front of him. Sam was sitting on the chair across from him and Teal'c was sitting in the corner, thankfully for Daniel, as quiet as ever. Each of them had a beer in their hand besides Teal'c who had declined as usual.
"It's not a play... it's a skit."
"What's the difference? We still have to remember lines!"
"A play is more than a page long JACK!"
"Well Daniel this is two!"
Daniel looked over at Sam, begging with his eyes for help. She unhappily obliged, sighing heavily before continuing with Daniel's plea.
"Sir, it's a present for General Hammond, the least we could do is try."
"Carter... it's a PLAY!"
He shook the pages in his hand for emphasis before taking a little sip of the beer that nearly fell out of his hand.
"Couldn't we just get him a pen or something?" Jack continued on complaining.
"You always get him a pen Jack!"
"What's wrong with a nice pen?"
Daniel huffed his disappointment, trying to get Jack to understand something isn't always that easy.
"You always need pens."
"JACK!"
It wasn't a yell, more of a plea on Daniel's part. Suddenly Jack stops ranting and looked at Daniel's sad face.
"I guess we could try, Sir," Sam says trying to convince her senior officer that it might be a good idea.
"T, what do you think?"
Finally Teal'c looks up for the first time since they started their 'rehearsal' and raises his eyebrow, "I believe General Hammond deserves more than a pen for Christmas O'Neill."
Jack smiled and threw the script on the floor before setting his beer on the table, "I know!"
Heading for his closet Jack yelled over his shoulder, "That's why I got him this for this year."
Walking back Jack allowed his teammates to lay their eyes on the box clutched in his hands.
"When did you-."
Daniel was cut off the second he actually managed a good look at the thing Jack was holding. Suddenly the archeologist and astrophysicist burst out laughing. Teal'c on the other hand just raised his eyebrow a little higher, a slight grin could be seen playing across his lips.
"Like it?"
"It is interesting O'Neill," Teal'c answered after it was obvious that Sam and Daniel couldn't stop their laughing.
"It's the perfect gift T."
What was in the box, which was something Daniel and Sam couldn't get past, was a metal Christmas tree with a picture holder at the top. Neatly tugged in the frame was a picture of SG-1 and their leader at one of their many barbeques. Now to why the two couldn't see past the box and onto the plastic window. The box itself was covered from top to bottom with the pens Jack always gets.
"Done my Christmas shopping for a least for awhile." Jack jokes as Daniel and Sam burst into another fit of laugher.
The End
