The KID's Christmas

Upon a roof the Kaitou rose, upheld by his paraglider. Swiftly gliding across the night sky, Kaitou felt a breeze brush his cheek gently. Under him the lights of Tokyo lit, this night they shone brighter then earlier that year: It was Christmas. The light reflected in his monocle, Kaito smiled slightly.

He landed on a roof where the wind blew much. Twice his white hat almost flew away.

A minute the door was locked, a minute later the locks had opened as if by magic.

A guard stepped forward to stop the Kaitou: The last he saw was rose cloud of smoke and he fell asleep. Kaitou observed the guards face closely. First Kaitou changed his suit and put on a blue one that looked more like the guards.Secondly, Kaitou put a mask resembling the guards face almost perfectly. Finally, Kaitou 'borrowed' the guard's papers and memorized whatever information they may have contained.

Kaitou left the guard bound, but unharmed, in a closet and pursued his mission. As he walked further in the museum Kaitou, now disguised as the guard, copied the guards walk closely. In the next room was inspector Nakamori, who had become red of anger as he heard the KID had managed to get in. The best part was: The guard who toldNakamori WAS Kaitou KID himself.

So while Nakamori sent his men to every corner of the museum, Kaitou struggled much not to laugh and give away his disguise.

Kaitou approached the gem to 'borrow it'. Kaitou smiled a broad smile. None noticed the KID was about to take the gem, it was almost too good to be true.

Note to oneself, the KID thought: When something is almost too good to be true, it IS too good to be true.

Kaitou realized his guard-mask had been removed AND he had been handcuffed. When looking for the handcuffs owner Kaitou turned around and saw Hakuba to his right. Hakuba came with a sarcastic remark; Kaitou ignored it, and released white smoke clouds around his hands to gain time to free himself.

When the clouds had vanished, the handcuffs were all but gone. Hakuba had put two extra handcuffs on the KID, just in case. While arresting Kaitou, Hakuba stated it was nine. Suddenly Kaito realized he was very very late. Therefore, Kaitou fled with the gem and his two pair of handcuffs.

One hour (and two handcuffs) later Kaito Kuroba arrived just in time for Aoko's Christmas party. Nakamori and Hakuba had once again been beaten by the KID. For a reason yet not explained, when Hakuba arrived to Aoko's party, he looked strangely at Kaito's wrists. Hakuba could not find any sign of handcuff-marks on them, he said most confused to Aoko.
