Listen as the wind blows
From across the great
divide
Voices trapped in yearning
Memories trapped in time
The
night is my companion
And solitude my guide
Would I spend
forever here
And not be satisfied
He had lain dormant for so many years. The silence of his mind was like a pressure, building and building. Yet he had waited, he had been patient. He had known she would come. How long exactly he slept, trapped in a web of magic of his own creation, he did not know. But he did remember what woke him up. The scratch of a quill, a drop of ink, that was all it took. With her first words to him, he had felt her innocence, he had felt her yearning for a friend, and he would be that friend, and she would be what he had waited so long for, she would be his release, she would be his.
And I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss
you so hard
I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe
away the tears
Just close your eyes dear
As she spoke to him, and he spoke to her, the lines between them blurred. Her soul poured into him, enshrining little pieces of herself in his heart. His soul poured into her, striping her of the innocence he had first felt, making himself a new home inside of her. Alone they were neither one nor the other, neither a memory nor a child. Only together were they complete. Each had lost something of themselves to the other
Through this world I've stumbled
So many
times betrayed
Trying to find an honest word
To find the truth
enslaved
Oh you speak to me in riddles and
You speak to me in
rhymes
My body aches to breathe your breath
You words keep me
alive
He had never been her friend. She could have told you he was the best friend she'd ever had. But she knew he wasn't. She had always known what he was doing; she had always felt it, in the pieces of his soul kept safe inside her own. How could she not have known, when she was so little herself, and so much of him? He was everything she wanted, and everything that would destroy her.
And I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss
you so hard
I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe
away the tears
Just close your eyes dear
He would take what he wanted from her, and leave her to die. But part of him would die with her, and part of her would survive with him. She could never truly die, while her soul lived on in his, just as he could never die, while his soul lived on in her. Neither could survive fully without the other, and neither could survive with the other. Destined to be apart, destined to live with half a soul, the other lost long ago.
Into this night I wander
It's morning that I
dread
Another day of knowing of
The path I fear to tread
Oh
into the sea of waking dreams
I follow without pride
Nothing
stands between us here
And I won't be denied
She couldn't deny him, when he used her to bring himself back. Had he been in her position, he wouldn't have been able to either. She would be comforted by the fact that she would live on, as a part of him, and a part of him would die with her. Time went on, losing so much to the other, leaving her more of him, than he himself was. Leaving him more of her, then she. Entwined in eachother. Becoming eachother. Had they stood next to eachother, they would have cast one shadow, instead of two. Had they lain next to eachother and slept, they would have breathed one breath, instead of two.
And I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss
you so hard
I'll take your breath away
And after I'd wipe
away the tears
Just close your eyes dear
When he was destroyed, so was she. A part of her died in that chamber, yet a part of him lived on. Forever inside of her. Forever as one.
