Virgin

An X fanfiction

By dj

Disclaimer: X is by Clamp. But we all know that already don't we? And yet, we continue to butcher their characters to fit our own fantasies...

Soft. And warm.

That was unexpected.

That man was usually such a cold-blooded creature.

But the warmth was cooling rapidly.

He tried to tell himself that it was because of his tears. But tears were hot weren't they? Wait, why was he crying? Never mind. He did not want to know.

He was just trying very hard to will the now-cold lips to move in response to his. Trying to convince himself that the closed eyes were due to common courtesy for the activity at hand. And nothing else.

Whether he truly believed it was not the issue.

Under the bridge, the water was splashing high up into the air and beating violently upon the banks. Probably due the huge slabs of concrete falling into it. Shrill cries of mothers trying to hold on to their children seared through the air. Metal railings fell onto the ground, simulating thunder and lightning with their booming clangs and momentous sparks. Occasionally, when the railings collided with vehicles or soft bodies, a sickening dull thud was heard.

While the rest of the world screamed in chaos, all he could see was blackness. All he could feel was the ice-cold lips he tried to warm and the dead weight in his arms. All he could hear was the deafening silence following the sentence that was never finished.

And still, he kept on coaxing, beseeching to any god who would listen with the innocence he no longer had. The innocence that had caused him to always sparkle with joy when Snow White and Sleeping Beauty were awakened with a kiss from their one true love and live happily ever after henceforth. Maybe with innocence, stories would cease to be just stories.

As expected, it did not work.

Was it because of the doubt in him that stubbornly refused to be washed away?

Perhaps it was his retribution for lying to god. For praying insincerely.

God had given up, but he would not.

Yet that was still a lie, wasn't it? Since he fell so readily, seeking to embrace the waters below, where he believed the continuation to that sentence lay.

There was no scream as he joined the masses that were raining into the murky sea. He already knew where it would end. He always did.

Once again, he put up a futile fight against his wave of consciousness.

Nowadays, he did not even put much effort into it anymore.

So he woke up,

thinking that the dream was hardly suitable for someone his age.

Maybe he was just another horny old man that made up the filth of the elderly population of Japan.

Which was ironic really, since he was a virgin through and through. Of love, sex and kissing.

In real life.
