General Ivanova laid back against her pillows, smiling. I laid back, completely exhausted.
"Aren't you tired?" I asked.
"A little." She replied, a bit distracted.
"You were thinking about Marcus, were you?" I asked, smiling as she blushed prettily.
"Yes." She admitted. I leaned over, and kissed her cheek.
"It's okay." I smiled. "I don't mind. He was my friend as well. I don't blame you."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't..." She began. I stopped her with another kiss.
"He would feel the same way, were our positions reversed. I'm glad I can match your expectations of him." I kissed her again. "Go to sleep. Dream of him. I have to leave for a while, but I'll be back." I kissed her once more, and slipped out of bed. She smiled, and fell asleep a moment later.
No one on the ship questioned that I stepped out of her quarters. They never did. After all, I did it a lot. I'll admit this was the first time we'd had sex, but... Clearance to launch was easy to obtain. The sleek fighter swept into space, humming as it's hyper drive swung into action, drawing the fighter through a spatial rip, and into hyperspace. The trip wasn't long, after all, Babylon 5 was just a short spacial hop away.
"This is UCS 1 to Babylon 5 C&C. Requesting permission to dock." I transmitted. Corwin's voice came across the empty space.
"Clear to land." He told me. Computers whirred, and spoke across the empty space, as my fighter ghosted into the docking bay. It was directed to bay 13, where the Vorlon ships had always lived.
"Something I can help you with?"
The man who had met me asked. "No. Just making my way to medlab. Could you alert them, and let them know I'm coming? I'll need Marcus stasis unit, as well as project six-one-four."
"Six-one-four?" He asked.
"You don't want to know." I replied. "Just go." He saluted, and darted off. Moving through the station, I smiled sadly, knowing it would be the last time I did.
Looking through the window into the stasis pod, I couldn't help but shed a tear. It was my turn to repay the favor to Marcus. He'd given me back my life, so I was giving him his. Some might say it was a hard thing to do, a difficult choice to make, but as I strapped my arm into the alien device, I felt only calm satisfaction, that it was truly worth the sacrifice. I also knew, that he would gain my memories in the transfer, and be able to be waiting for her.

Marcus Cole drew a ragged breath, as he looked down on the sleeping form of Susan Ivanova. She had aged a bit, but she was still the one he both needed, and wanted. Her eyes fluttered open as she woke.
"Good morning." He whispered softly.
"How? When?" She looked to the bed beside her. "Where is Adam?"
"Gone. You know how the device works. For one to live, another must die. But I know everything he did, so he's still here with us." He kissed her, and she knew he was right.
