Chapter 2: The Unfriendly Welcome

Author's Notes: Thanks for everyone who reviewed my work, because of all of you, you fueled me to complete this chapter. Thanks a lot guys and gals. Anyway, I know you want to read, so I'll stop. Enjoy Chapter 2.

There in the middle of the gate, Anlanzer stood, he had a huge smile on his face. Anna stood in shock, she didn't know what to say. Anlanzer was calm. Yoh called for Amidamaru.

"Sprit Form! Amidamaru! Into the sword!"

Yoh spirit form with Amidamaru, his sword glowed with all of his Furyoku. This caught Anlanzer's attention. He looked over at Yoh, and laughed.

"Hey! Is this the welcome that you give to your brother-in-law? You're the Shaman King aren't you? Shows some restraint..."

Anlanzer knew what he wanted to accomplish, he wanted to take down Yoh. But, he couldn't do it, just by coming out and thrashing at him, no, he needed to make more of a strategic approach. He remembered him saying he wanted his revenge, letting that slip out of his mouth was a mistake, he was just overcome with a hatred for Yoh. After all these thoughts, he then walked towards Anna. He opened his arms out wide, to the group, he suddenly became light-hearted, and had a gigantic smile on his face.

"So, Anna, aren't you going to give your big brother a hug?"

The group were shocked with Anlanzer's sudden change in emotion. Anna looked into her brother's eyes.

"Don't play games with me, Anlanzer."

"Is that how you talk to your brother? After all these years..."

"I thought I felt your presence in the Shaman Tournament, and now I know it was true. You were the Shaman who was disqualified for crushing Shamans and putting them in hospitals."

"Hah, then you of all people should know that I should be the Shaman King!"

Anlanzer paced around the front lawn. The gang watched in confusion. Anna shouted at him:

"Yoh is the Shaman King, you have no right to threaten him for it."

Anlanzer seemed angered by this comment. He walked in front of his sister, he quickly drew his weapon and held it, near Anna's face, and the end of the blade was almost touching her face. Anna stood terrified. Yoh had enough. He jumped into the air and slashed at him, reacting quickly, Anlanzer sprit formed, and placed his sprit into his Lance. He blocked Yoh's attack with his Lance.

"How dare you threaten, Anna!"

Yoh burned with Anger. Anlanzer smiled.

"This is quite the welcome party..."

Anlanzer spun his Lance. Horo Horo, Ren Tao and Ryu, all jumped in to help. Anlanzer called for them to attack, they all came head on, as Anlanzer blocked the attacks, Anna watched and the way he moved reminded her of someone...but who? Despite all the Shaman's effort, they couldn't touch Anlanzer.

"Ha Ha! Well, this is the end."

Anlanzer ran, jammed his Lance, into the ground and jumped into the air, as he was ascending, he drew his Lance from the ground, the Shamans looked up wondering what he was doing, he pulled the Lance back and threw it, while saying:

"Kyoyama LANCER!"

Anna heard this and had a flashback.

Anna's Flashback…

Anna was with her brother and her father. Her Father spoke:

"You two will carry the family legacy. Shamans can do great things. I have something to show you. It is a technique I've been perfecting, this will show you the power of a Shaman."

Anna's Father grabbed his Lance, ran and jammed the Lance into the ground, pulled it out as he jumped into the air, drew the Lance back and hurled it towards the Earth. As the Lance hit the ground as huge explosion went off. When the dust cleared, there was a giant crater, with the Lance in the middle of it. Her father landed and grabbed the Lance. He smiled at his children.

"That my children, is the Kyoyama Lancer..."

End Flashback…

"No! This can't be!"

Anna shouted. She knew only her father could use that technique. Even if her brother learned it, how could he? Her father died soon after he showed them the technique. She didn't understand. As she saw the Lance approaching the Shamans she screamed:

"HEY! Get out of the way!"

They all looked at Anna. But, it was too late. The Lance struck the ground and a huge explosion went off, blasting dust into the air. Anlanzer landed on the ground. When the dust cleared, his Lance was in the middle of the fallen Shamans. He walked right in between the Shamans lying on the ground and grabbed his Lance.

"Pitiful..."

Anna looked on in shock. Not only was her husband, Yoh, seriously injured by her own brother, but to that fact that her brother showed the same shaman skills as her father. Yoh still had some Furyoku, and began to get to his feet.

"Yoh, please! Don't get up!"

Yoh used the last bit of his energy to slash the unsuspecting Anlanzer, he caught him in the back, ripping through his shirt, and causing him to bleed in his back. Feeling the scorching burn, Anlanzer turned around.

"You just don't get it, Yoh, you're a fool..."

Yoh slashed his sword again, this time Anlanzer blocked it, Yoh was drained of energy, Anlanzer forced his knee deep into Yoh's stomach, causing him to spit blood, and he then hammered him to the ground. Anna looked in horror.

"ANLANZER! Please, STOP THIS!"

She began to cry. Anna, who was always so strong, began to cry at the sight of her brother crushing Yoh into the ground. She was overcome with emotion. Anlanzer checked on the other Shamans, Ren Tao, Ryu and Horo Horo, they were all knocked out cold. Anlanzer looked around. He used a special technique and pointed it at Pirika, and she came flying towards him. Anlanzer grabbed her. She screamed:

"LET GO OF ME YOU FREAK!"

Just then, Tamao who was coming over to visit stopped by the front gate. She looked into the gate only to see Yoh, Ren Tao, Horo Horo and Ryu lying on the ground and to see a strange man who had a hold of Pirika. She screamed:

"AHHHH!"

This caught Anlanzer's attention. Anna looked towards the gate:

"Tamao! Get out of here now!"

"Too late!"

Anlanzer used the same technique and grabbed her into his arms. She squirmed in his arms.

"You aren't going anywhere."

Anlanzer focused on his sister. "Why? Anlanzer, why do you do this to me?"

With Pirika and Tamao in hand, he put them down and knocked them out. Anlanzer approached Anna, and Manta was the only one left. He saw Anlanzer walking towards Anna, but he was afraid. Nonetheless, he charged at Anlanzer:

"Don't you dare hurt Anna, you creep!"

Anlanzer waved his arms and swatting him like a fly, he went flying across the air. Anlanzer laughed.

"Hah, for a little guy, he sure catches some air."

Anna looked into his eyes.

"Why are you doing this!?"

"Hmph, you took away the Shaman Tournament from me, you left me alone with Father to go find Yoh, and I was alone when he died. How are you question my motives, Anna!"

Anlanzer knelt in front of Anna. He put his two fingers below her chin, and pushed her face up.

"Listen, you will surrender the name of the Shaman King to me, if you don't there will be consequences. Things can never be like they used to be, Anna."

Anlanzer gave Anna a kiss on the cheek. He grabbed Tamao and Pirika and put them over his shoulder. He looked back at Anna.

"You have one month, until then."

Anlanzer jumped into the air and disappeared into the night, leaving Anna on the ground, tears rolling down her face and leaving the destruction of his Lance. Anna touched the cheek that Anlanzer had kissed...

"What changed you? Your reasons don't convince me why you would act this way..."

This truly was the Unfriendly Welcome.
