My little angel
Chapter 1: Bad News
By: Merina
This story is dedicated to one of my best friends, Kiyoshi Wheeler! Hope you enjoy it!
Beginning of story:
Serenity sat in solitude as she waited for her older brother Joey. She herd faint steps in the distance-it had to be Joey. She ran to him, but instead of Joseph Wheeler it was a tall man with brown locks, and a big blue trench coat.
"Seto, where is my big brother?"
Seto looked at the ground and then over at a bench. "You might want to sit down." He said quietly.
Serenity sat down on the bench, then looked up at Seto as he paced back and forth in the snow. He then stopped and looked straight at Serenity with tears in his eyes.
"He… he is dying... he got hit by a car" Seto said, "Stupid Mutt-Joey saw the poor thing and tried to save it before it got hit by a car, but instead he was the one who got hit" Seto clenched his hands, then tightly shut his eyes trying to keep away his tears. "Stupid Joey."
"My... my big brother…" Warm tears dripped down her face. Seto sat down beside her, and then gently patted her on the back.
"I'm sorry Serenity." He said sadly.
"Its ok Seto, it's not like it was your fault." Serenity said as she slowly got to her feet.
"Where are you going Serenity?" Seto asked with tears falling from his eyes.
"I'm going to my brother. Where is he?"
"At the new hospital by the library." Seto replied, "Can I give you a ride there?"
She nodded solemnly. Seto took his sell-phone out of his pocket, and then called for his limo. The limo arrived shortly, and then Serenity and Seto got in.
Serenity stared out of the window the whole time without saying a single word. Seto sighed as he watched her. He couldn't tell her, not now. The limo stopped. The driver opened the door, and Serenity got out. She looked up at the building, and read the words on the sign that was hanging on the door. "Mercy Hospital" She closed her eyes, a tear rolled down her cheek. Seto got out of the limo, and then stood beside her. He put his hand on her shoulder.
"Ready to go in?" Seto asked nervously.
She shook her head in dismay, "Mm… not yet. I'll go in, in a moment. Why don't you go on in ahead of me." She spoke as she walked away from him.
"All right" Seto said as he walked up the slippery stares. He glanced back down at Serenity, and then opened the doors and walked in.
He stared out one of the small windows in the door. Serenity was sitting on one of the steps with her face berried in her arms. She was crying, or was she praying? "But for what?" Seto thought to him self. Seto looked away, and then took a seat in one of the chairs by the door.
Serenity stood up, then looked up at the sky. White crisp snow flakes were slowly floating down to the ground. She whipped her eyes with the sleeve of her jacket, then tuned around until she was standing if front of the building. She took in a deep breath of cold air, and then walked into the hospital.
