And now...

BROKEN SIGHT

Run...

That was all she could remember. It's meaning was so simple yet it was the difference between life and death. The shrill shots of gunfire rang behind her fallowed by the screams of others. That, in its self, drove her to go faster. In time her surroundings changed and the sounds of horror discontinued.

Cold yellow eyes were soon replaced with a soft hazel color. Chilled air wisped through the forest around her as she slumped against a tree. Upon closer inspection of her body she saw large spots of blood on her clothing, yet no scars. Confused she desperately tried to remember what had happened.

War…

War? What war? Her memories slowly flooded in as many of her questions were answered. Hodari was her name. It meant "courage" in a language her memories did not answer. Right now she felt as if she had none. Why would they chase her? Who were they?

Different…

Different. She was different. Paw-prints trailed behind her soon to change into footprints. Shock ran rampant all the way through her. How could she be different? The trail, her own trail, showed that she was ether an animal or a human. But which?

Both…

Both. Not alone a human, not alone a beast. Slowly memories informed her that she could be any animal she wished, even one she made up. To prove this she concentrated on one animal, the wolf. The image of the proud animal appeared in her head. Suddenly her body erupted in searing heat, but before she could react it stopped. A tail wagged behind her as yellow eyes opened to revel her new form. It was true. Now what?

Go Back…

Go Back. Find out what happened. Get answers. Determination filled her heart as she let out a long howl into the dark. The forest itself seemed to hush at her newfound vigilance. Still remaining as a wolf she darted out the same way she came. What ever she was, woman or wolf, a blood rage boiled in her mind ready to fight anything that crossed her path. Anything.

To be continued...
