Fire
I've seen it so often now
Our home was destroyed by it
Our love ones killed by it
Our lives broken by it
I may have read many books
I may have read books on fires
But it doesn't matter how many books I read
Because it's to late
I haven't read books on time travel
But that's the book I needed
With my researching
And my sister's inventing
And my younger sister's teeth
Maybe we could have saved you
But see, our life is not a science-fiction story
If it was I would know
I've read about them
And I've learned in reality
You can't turn back time
If you could life would be fair
And we all know
Life isn't fair
We need to put it behind us experts would say
But as much as it pains me to say this
It's hard to put a terrible fire
That could have been stopped
If life was a science-fiction novel
Behind you
When it killed your parents
Destroyed your home
And introduced us to a man
That would hunt us down
For the rest of our lives
