Elizabeth Weir stood in the control room looking down at the amazing piece of technology that was the Stargate. She still had trouble believing that she was in a different galaxy, even though she had been here for the better part of a year. Suddenly the Stargate activated, interrupting her thoughts.
"Do we have a code yet?"she asked Grodin calmly.
"It's Major Sheppard's code, ma'am," Grodin answered her.
Elizabeth smiled inwardly. Finally, the good major and his team made it back at the scheduled time. Hopefully, there were no injuries. That would be a first!
Major Sheppard and his team stepped through the gate as the shield lowered. Elizabeth looked down at John and gave him the soft smile that she usually reserved for him when he did things correctly. That's when she noticed the tiny bundle he was holding in his arms. To her immense horror, it moved!
"Major Sheppard, what do you have in your arms?" Elizabeth asked tentatively. She was a bit afraid of his reply.
"Well, you see, Dr.Weir, it's a bit of a funny story, and I would love to tell it to you sometime, but I really think I should get her to see Dr.Beckett."
"Her?" Now Elizabeth knew that she really didn't want to know.
"Did I hear someone say my name?" Carson Beckett asked, storming into the control room.
"John was just about to tell me all about it, Carson. Weren't you, John?"
John unwrapped the small bundle and revealed to everyone in the control room that the object in his arms was in fact an infant.

A/N- If I get plenty of reviews, I might continue writing. I mean, I literally need tons of inspiration because I usually have a hard time finishing longer stories. Oh, and sorry it's so short.
