Disclaimer: Yeah, yeah, so I don't own Inuyasha…or anything related to the show…yeah go ahead, smirk and laugh…make fun of me…but I warn you, my men are keeping tabs on you all…
A/N: I knew it…so a lot of your weren't happy with the last chapter, but do remember, Kagome thinks anyone is nice compared to Sesshomaru…besides, Naraku was nice to Kagome. Also, I really really apologize for the long wait…no one wants to kill me…right? And so there are slight traces of Sess/Kago fluff. GO TO MY PROFILE PAGE, AND READ ALL THE SUMMARIES FOR THE INUYASHA FICS, AND VOTE!!!!
Thanks for reviewing: Pink Sakura, BlueDove, DemonKikay, VashLvR, CrystallineLily, WinglessAngelLeanne, tasha, loverofangelus73069, Glass Dragon, yujin-chan aka neko megami, Dark Neko17, Silver Tonbo, kitsunelover25 and LadyAkina
DemonKikay- I'm sorry that Kagome was getting on your nerves…and that the last chapter wasn't all that…but Kagome doesn't really know Naraku right now…at least…for now…redundant…
VashLvR- I love Vash too! Even though I don't really love Naraku…I'm glad…and I'm sure that he's glad as well, that you like him!
CrystallineLily- Ok, I promise to make this chapter longer…just for you!
Loverofangelus73069- You know, I've tried and tried, but I really don't think that I have a subconscious…is that not normal?
Glass Dragon- I've never seen that movie, but I do know what you're talking about. My friend who saw the movie said that the summary sounded like it would be a lot like the movie, but then after telling/showing him the outline for the story, he told me that there was basically zero similarities. So I might or I might not write a disclaimer…I'm still debating on it, but thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Silver Tonbo- Heh heh, I'm glad that you could see that Sesshomaru was pissed.
kitsunelover25- Thank you, and I'm glad that you are reading again. I'm trying to make this gradual, I mean, Kagome still thinks Sesshomaru killed Kouga…but she will soon see! I put a little bit of Sess/Kago fluff here…
LadyAkina- Oooh…putting all the pieces together!!! Oops…I mean, maybe…maybe not…
Okee…and the voting so far goes like this:

Chapter 10
"Maybe I don't want to tell you," Kagome said cheekily.
"Or maybe you would like to become familiar with my friend…Tokijin," Sesshomaru growled.
"Or maybe I'll just accept Naraku's offer," Kagome snapped back.
"Or maybe you will not even be alive to accept his offer," Sesshomaru spat, extremely annoyed now.
"Fine, kill me." Kagome dared, "Now."
Sesshomaru's golden eyes narrowed. "You dare to dare this Sesshomaru?"
"Yes, I do dare to dare this Sesshomaru," Kagome waggled back as she took a step closer to him. They stood barely a centimeter apart, and even though Kagome had to crane her neck back to look up at him, her anger and defiance did not lessen.
"You do realize that you are making me testy," Sesshomaru inquired.
"Of course I do, now quite stalling and kill me!" Kagome yelled.
Sesshomaru picked her up by the collar of her kimono, and raised her to his eyelevel. "Do you believe me to be so stupid as to kill you so quickly?" He brought her face close to his. "Do not even try me wench, for I know your little schemes…" All of the sudden Sesshomaru dropped Kagome into an ungraceful heap onto the ground.
Sesshomaru looked as if he wanted to cough, but his nostrils merely flared. "Go take a bath…now," he barked. "You reek of Naraku's disgusting smell,"
Kagome just looked up at him. Half of her wanted to smack him on the back as if he were a little child and yell 'Cough!' Unfortunately the other half of her was angry that he had just dropped her like some rag doll. Kagome debated whether she should yell at him or help him, but she was thrown off track the moment Sesshomaru told her she reeked. "Excuse me?!" she yelled as she huffily stood up. "Did you just tell me that I smell?!"
If Kagome was a demon with perceptive senses, she would have noticed Sesshomaru's nose twitch slightly, but since she wasn't a demon, it went unnoticed. "How clever of you, I should make you my pet," Sesshomaru replied sarcastically.
"I do not stink!" Kagome shouted.
Sesshomaru closed his eyes for a brief moment. So he felt nauseated and now his ears ached…didn't she ever shut up? "I believe I told you to take a bath," Sesshomaru said wryly. "Good pets do as they are told."
"I'm not your pet so I don't have to," Kagome taunted. A deep and feral growl erupted from Sesshomaru. He grabbed her by the arm, and flew up into the air. Kagome let out a scream. "If you do not quiet, I will drop you," Sesshomaru threatened.
"Please…let me go, my arm hurts!" Kagome begged him.
"It is amazing, you act bold, but the moment you are in danger, your boldness disappears," Sesshomaru mused.
"Well even I know when to shut up sometimes," Kagome grumbled.
"Amazing, now enjoy your bath,"
Before she could ask where, she found herself falling. Another scream erupted from her mouth as the regal figure of Sesshomaru grew farther and farther away as she fell further and further down. Her scream was cut short as she fell into a hot spring.
Sesshomaru winced as Kagome screamed again. Instead of thinking of how annoying she was, his eyes widened as her dark brown eyes stared at him as she fell. Her hair whipping about her…he closed his eyes as he remembered bits and pieces of dreams. They would be flying, and she would fall, and disappear into a dark gray cloud that smelled like…sulfur…
Sesshomaru growled again in frustration. It was one thing to dream about that wretched human girl who thought that she could outsmart him, and it was another thing to have that Naraku's stench in his dreams as well. 'What is wrong with me?!' he thought in uncharacteristic panic. He flew away, and in a clearing not too far away he transformed into his larger dog demon form, and began to knock down and uproot trees with a mere batting of his large white paws.
'Damn this human! Plaguing my thoughts and dreams…only a sorceress could do something like this!' he thought as he took down a good twenty trees with a sweep of his two front paws. 'Yes, she is a sorceress!' Sesshomaru was about to demolish another section of the forest, but stopped himself, and turned back into his humanoid form. "That was foolish of me," he commented out loud, "Losing control because of a stupid ningen…"
Sesshomaru sat down, and leaned against the trunk of a tree that he hadn't uprooted. "Ever since I met her, she has been in every one of my dreams…even before I knew who she was…there must be a reason why," Sesshomaru thought out loud. "It is extremely odd, she annoys me, and provokes my anger like no other, yet I have not killed her yet," Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed, "Is this your way of getting revenge Kouga?" 'But she does make life interesting,' Sesshomaru reluctantly admitted.
"Despite this and her being of a vile and inferior race, I feel different when I am with her, feelings that do not come when I am with Rin. Each encounter with her just makes me want to be with her more," Sesshomaru almost sighed. "What are these feelings that come over me? I, Sesshomaru have never been this confused before…"
'But she certainly seems to hate you,' his subconscious said again.
'Not you again,' Sesshomaru thought with a groan.
'What do you mean? I am you,'
'How lucky of me.' he thought sarcastically.
'You have to admit though, you make life pretty miserable for her,'
'How so?' Sesshomaru thought, 'She is still alive now, is she not?'
'With the way you're thinking, Kagome will only learn to hate you more and more,'
'She is below me…how else am I supposed to treat her?'
'I remember a certain Naraku saying something about nice…'
'I will not stoop to Naraku's level or heed any of his advice,' Sesshomaru thought maliciously.
'The whole nice thing sure seemed to have worked for him though,' his subconscious teased.
Sesshomaru rubbed his temples. What was wrong with him today? His subconscious had kicked in twice today…that was statistically and proportionally more just today than his whole life altogether. What was this girl doing to him? He then closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind.
Kagome came up to the surface of the hot spring sputtering. "What was that?" she demanded. "He could've made me take a bath in a much nicer way!" she exclaimed. "He is so demanding, if only he would ask politely, then I would be more than happy to comply with his wishes," she complained.
"And what am I supposed to do about clothes?" she continued as she peeled her wet kimono and under garments from her body. She tossed the items onto the bank, wondering just how she was to 'wash up,' she began to relax. The hot water loosened her tense muscles, and made her forget that she was the servant of a very angry demon lord who didn't know that she was the widow of the former lord of the lands that he now occupied. ((A/N: If only you knew Kagome…if only you knew…))
"I don't stink," Kagome muttered bitterly as she dipped her head back into the water of the hot spring. "So I don't know what he's talking about." Kagome made her way to a rock in the hot spring, and rested her head on it. The rock was warm from the heat of the hot spring, and Kagome soon dozed off.
Sesshomaru managed to calm down, and slowly stood up. He then began to take slow and long strides towards the hot spring. He came to the hot spring and scanned the area. Her clothes which were wet, were in a careless pile on the bank, but Kagome was no where to be found. He looked around again, and then found her…asleep on a rock, most likely lulled to sleep by the warmth of the hot spring. "Foolish ningen, naïve enough to fall asleep…unclothed in the middle of a forest," Sesshomaru reprimanded the sleeping Kagome.
Sesshomaru delicately moved a wet strand of hair from her face. Her hair was coarse like a human's, and the same color as every other human out there. But why did she haunt him at night? Why did he feel…drawn to her? Why was he obsessing and feeling so perplexed over this all? He didn't understand this…it wasn't lust, for he had experienced lust before…this was different…just like Kagome.
Kagome felt someone…or something for that matter touch her, but didn't want to wake up. She was comfortable as she was. Then her eyes fluttered open, and she found herself staring into a pair of golden orbs. Her eyes widened, and for a second she could have sworn she saw emotion in those eyes, but they almost immediately were replaced with the usual icy look. "You smell tolerable," he commented as he continued staring at her.
Kagome stared back until she remembered where she was. "I'm naked you hentai! Get away from me!!!"
"Cease your shrieking and put this on," Sesshomaru told her as he carefully removed his outer haori. For a moment, Kagome thought that he wasn't wearing anything underneath, and felt a rush of emotions overcome her when she saw that he was wearing a thinner white silk under shirt. Kagome almost groaned. 'Come on Kagome, you've seen better bodies,' she told herself, 'So stop acting like a little girl.'
Still hiding behind the rock, Kagome tentatively touched the expensive silk haori that had been tossed onto the rock. "What did you do to it?" Kagome asked suspiciously.
Sesshomaru stared at Kagome, "If I were going to kill you, believe me, I would do so in a much more violent way."
Kagome glared back at him, and with her back turned put on the haori while grumbling loudly about rude dog demons and all of their bad qualities. "Do you ever shut up you ungrateful wench?"
Kagome spun around, "YES, as a matter of fact I don't complain as much when people are nice to me," she said in a clipped tone.
Sesshomaru growled lightly, there was that word again. That stupid word; nice. Who cared about nice? Being nice would get you absolutely nowhere in life, he had learned that. Besides, why would he want to be nice to her anyways? Just to get her to shut up? Kagome angrily waded to the bank, and hoisted herself out of the water. When she stood up, Sesshomaru posed a question. "Kagome," he began, almost thoughtfully, "Why is it that you hate me?"
Kagome looked at him in surprise. Once she regained composure of herself, and blinking a few times, she walked right up to Sesshomaru and looked him right up in the eye. "Are you really Sesshomaru?" she asked him.
Sesshomaru almost snorted.
"They say you're ruthless, mean, handsome, rude, arrogant, powerful, bloodthirsty, and cruel. That and you're heartless, and the epitomy of evil." Kagome rambled on. "So far I've only seen mean, rude, arrogant, and powerful. I haven't seen too much bloodthirsty, and I haven't seen too much heartless, I mean, you take care of a little human girl…unless you have her for other reasons," Kagome said with a cringe.
"How dare you insult this Sesshomaru of such indecency?" he asked, his voice calm even though a small puff of green toxic gas puffed from one of his fingers.
"Well pardon me! What is someone like me supposed to think?" Kagome asked. "Geez. Anyways, as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, you don't seem like the Sesshomaru I've heard of. You don't have red eyes either. But to answer your question…do I hate you?" Kagome looked him in the eyes again. "Yes…I do."
Sesshomaru merely looked back at her. "Why?" he asked softly.
Kagome's eyes welled up with tears, "Do you know how beautiful and perfect life was before you came? You ruined it all Sesshomaru…you, YOU ruined it all…"
"Is that why you tried to run away?"
Kagome shrugged while wiping away her tears. "I don't know…I was scared."
"Of what?" he inquired. It required all the self restraint he had to keep himself from wiping those tears away for her. He had done it before…and that had been a mistake.
"I don't know what I was scared of," she whispered hoarsely. But deep in the back of her mind, she knew. She was afraid that she was forgetting Kouga…sometimes when she was with Sesshomaru, she would forget that he was the reason for her state now. Even if she started off with crying for Kouga, she would always end up dreaming of Sesshomaru, and how he didn't seem so bad when he was holding her. It scared her…she should still be weeping for Kouga…she loved him…and she always would…and she would never forgive Sesshomaru…right?
"What can this Sesshomaru do to help?" he asked again, his voice level yet soft.
"Hold me…please…"
At the Demon Slayer Village
Sango looked at her reflection in the water. She wore a dark blue kimono with a pink cherry blossom in her hair, and pink and white butterflies were stitched onto it. Kagome had left late last night, and since it was about noon now, she could only expect that Kilala and her and found a place to rest. Sango felt antsy; and it wasn't just because she was worried sick for Kagome, but she was getting married to a total hentai. 'Mother and father would be proud,' she thought sarcastically.
Her village had recovered alright, and there still wasn't a 'master' demon slayer who had taken her place yet. Demon slayer trainers were rare to find, so it was hard to train more slayers. Her village had rejoiced at her arrival, and they had done more so when they heard she was marrying Miroku. They all expected a very powerful baby…with a monk for a father and a famous demon slayer for the mother. As Miroku joined in the festivities, Sango had stubbornly remained seated, praying to Kami with all her might that Kagome was safe.
The village that was once her home seemed different now. Perhaps it was because her family no longer lived there…and she didn't know any of the new demon slayers and their abilities. The village seemed foreign to her now, and although she hated to admit it, even her old friends seemed like strangers, and worse, Miroku was the only 'thing' she had. So she was going to get married now…to someone she was positive she didn't love…and never would, and right after they said their vows, they would have to hurry back to the palace before Sesshomaru decided they had stayed out too long and send a killing party out for them.
"Sango?" Sango didn't even turn her head for she knew who it was.
"What do you want?" she asked bitterly.
"Why the hostility my dearest?" he asked in feigned shock. "All I've ever done is treat you with respect and kindness, and this is how you treat me?"
"Save it houshi," Sango snapped. Sango almost gasped in surprise when she felt two arms wrap themselves around her waist. "Don't you- "
Sango never got to finish her sentence. "Shh, I won't…I promise." he whispered into her ear. Sango tried to push him away, but her limbs wouldn't listen to her. Instead of trying to get away, she felt her body mold into his as he held her. "Everything's going to be alright Sango, you'll see," Miroku soothed.
Sango felt a tear form at the corner of one of her eyes. "I promise Sango…there's more to me," Miroku continued in his attempts to convince Sango that he truly did love her.
"Don't lie," Sango said, her voice hoarse and raspy. Why was she crying? It was so stupid of her…
"San- " Miroku began, but they were interrupted by the sounds of several young children coming. It was then Sango found the strength to pull away.
"Sango-sama and Miroku-sama!" the children called. Several children came skipping through the forest, all dressed in their best kimonos. The little girls wore bright pastel colors with strips of silk in their hair, and the boys wore colorful haoris, much nicer than their everyday clothes.
Sango quickly wiped away her tears. "Yes?" she called as she turned around, smiling slightly.
"It's time!" the children chanted. "It's time!" The children all gathered around her, and pulled her away. Miroku followed, watching how affectionate Sango was toward them. 'She'll make a great mother someday,' Miroku thought with a sigh. 'If only she knew…'
