This is my first fan fic, please review and tell me if you liked. Basically, this is about problems when Missy first joins the Toros squad, and finds out some disturbing stuff about Torrance.
"Nice place." Missy said, as she was invited into Torrance's home.
"Yeah, it's okay." Torrance replied. An awkward silence followed… both girls knew they should be working on the routines, but both also knew there was more important stuff to talk about.
"Wanna go outside?" Torrance asked.
"Sure, whatever." Missy responded, with a cold tone. She didn't mean to sound so heartless, just serious. Torrance shot a hurt look in Missy's direction.
They walked outside and Torrance sat down on the lush summer grass. She picked daisies and started linking them, giving Missy no eye contact. Missy could feel anger building up inside her. Why didn't Torrance say something? Missy could sense Torrance knew why Missy was there. Missy couldn't hold it in. She had to scream. She had only met this girl last week, but she had to stop what was going to ruin her life.
"Okay, Torrance. Why? For God's sake WHY!?" Missy screamed.
"I don't need to tell you. I don't need anyone to help me." Torrance replied, with an even colder edge to her voice than Missy had used before.
"You do need help. You're in denial. You can't go on living like this! I just don't understand… why? You are a popular blonde cheerleader! On the outside…" but Missy was cut short
"Yeah! That's all that matters, the outside, isn't it?! That cute cheerleader, but, oh, whats her name again? The guys bet on who can ask me out first! Do you think that's okay? NO! Of all people I thought you would understand!" Torrance yelled.
"And you think drugs will solve those problems?" Missy said.
"NO! I don't! They're my escape. I can be in my world. Everything is great, I'm happy. It's my only lifeline. And it works, for me." Torrance replied, getting quieter, her voice trembling at the end.
Missy knew what to do. She wrapped Torrance up in her arms and hugged her.
"Still, Tor, why? You don't need to do that. It isn't necessary." Missy could feel Torrance's soft tears falling onto her arm.
"You don't understand. You have no idea!" Torrance sobbed.
"You think I haven't been there before? Suffered all the torment? Pretending to be someone you aren't? Well, I have, and I can tell you: drugs are not the answer. You can sort it out. I am happy being me. Sure, most people hate me but what the hell! I'm me, and I'm proud. I've got friends, great ones, like you. And I'm being myself."
"I guess. But I can't just give up… I mean, it's my way of coping. I come home and escape to my own place, where everything is perfect." Torrance replied.
"But it won't be perfect. It won't be all sugary sweet when you get brain damage. It won't be wonderful when you are locked up in a psych ward."
"That won't happen." Torrance replied, but sheepishly.
"It will. It happened to me. It almost ruined me. Why do you think I moved here? Because I fancied a change of scenery? No. It was because everyone knew about my past. Everyone avoided me. I heard the whispers of mothers saying to their children "don't go near that girl. She's not safe. Mad, they say". And it hurt. My parents pretend nothing ever happened. Which is okay, I guess. But Cliff wants me to face up to what happened. He wants you to face up to what is happening."
"You told Cliff?!" Torrance cried, as she sat upright.
"No. He told me. As you were going out of class the other day, something dropped out of your bag."
Torrance shook her head. Missy nodded.
"He probably hates me now. The crazy cheerleader. Doesn't know what she's doing. This is brilliant. Just brilliant. Don't know what to do!"
"I do." Missy told her.
"What?" Torrance said, eyes glazed with tears.
"I know one thing. I have to help you, Tor."
I will be adding more later. Hope you liked it!
