For just one moment, everything was okay again. Nothing bad seemed to have ever happened to either of them. No war was looming on the edge, Sirius was not dead, Harry was not unhappy, Voldemort was not back, and life was as simple as this one kiss.
Neither could remember now what they'd been fighting over, although they remembered the shouting and challenging that had ensued. But they both remembered the exact moment both realised that he was going to kiss her.
He'd just started leaning in towards her. Blue eyes, looking at her lips, then slowly up to her eyes, sheepishly and nervously before again being drawn to her lips…
There was sweet realisation as their lips met. Realisation that they didn't need to argue anymore. They didn't need to worry or fight or keep being strong. They could just ignore their own thoughts and enjoy their one moment of peace.
They stayed there for as long as they could, hands intertwined, closer than they had ever been before, hoping that it would last.
But the moment ended, never happened again, and life continued on.
They both made a silent pact never to mention it again, but they thought of it often and when one of them thinks now of their Hogwarts memories, its always thought fondly as the most enjoyable.
