It was the day before Christmas and everyone was bustling about the Hogwarts castle. Well, those few who stayed at school over the holidays. Everyone was busy trying to send out last minute gifts, or sitting around waiting anxiously for the next day to come.
On the other hand, there sat Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter sitting in the library bored out of their minds. They were used to year after year of gift from millions of girls, and people they could careless about. To them, Christmas was just a very overrated holiday that everyone happened to like.
Period.
As they sat there twiddling their thumbs, a young Gryffindor girl happened to just walk in. She spotted the two older, Slytherins, and blushed. She, as many of her friends, had a crush on one of them. She, actually, couldn't decide which of the two she liked better.
She stood there blinking at the two. Draco soon noticed her, and wrinkled his nose. "Is there a problem?" he asked all but outright sneering.
"N-no" she said looking up above their heads as the two stood and walked out. They ignored her surprised squeak as they left.
Wandering the school grounds seemed to be the only thing left to do, which ended up in them bumping into a fellow sixth year Slytherin, Blaise Zabini. He blinked at them, they talked for a bit about nothing and how stupid the holidays were, before Blaise's eyes soon wandered up to above their heads. He laughed and waved at them.
"Have fun!" he said laughing and heading down the hall and out of sight.
Draco and Harry looked at each other, completely confused.
"What was his problem?"
"I don't know."
"Doesn't really matter."
"Mmhmm."
Harry, after they went to their dormitory grabbed their coats and gloves and scarves and such, couldn't help but let his eyes glance up above their head. He stood there, in utter disbelief at what floated above their head.
Soon a snow ball smacked him in his side and he looked up and over at a laughing Draco. "Jeez, Harry," he said smiling happily at him. "Watch yourself, the snow attacks around here."
"Oh really?" Harry asked, rolling his eyes and then pointing up. "I suppose mistletoe follows you around, floating above your head all day, too."
Draco looked up and gasped. He began to laugh, and Harry looked at him bewildered. "That was what everyone was staring at!" Draco said looking back up at the very pretty piece of mistletoe that was floating between them trying to float over them both at the same time.
Draco walked over to Harry and the mistletoe followed like a loyal puppy. Draco smiled at Harry again, laughter dancing in his gray eyes.
Harry blinked. "Who do you think did this?" Harry asked, looking up at the mistletoe again, hands placed on his hips.
"I don't have the faintest idea."
Harry didn't have time to reply before cool, yet so tenderly warm and soft, lips were pressed against his.
