Wants, Needs And Desires

Kitten had always had her needs fulfilled: food, shelter and clothing were in easy reach. She had always had her wants fulfilled too: jewelry, music and transportation were also readily available.
However her desires (Kitten consider her desires different from her "wants") were never, ever, met: for her father to actually pay some attention to her, for her mother to be alive again, for her father to stop dressing up like a stupid moth.
Kitten found one desire constantly haunting her:
It was a party in a big, ugly, creepy warehouse. She didn't want to come, but it was Fang's birthday and he had begged her to come.
The girl came bursting into the warehouse like Haley's comet while Kitten was pondering the terrible punch.
The mystery girl had violet eyes. Kitten would say violet like amethyst, but amethyst was merely worthless quartz with touch of iron or something like that. And this girl's eyes like very valuable.
Violet like violet topaz? Violet like violet sapphires. Yes, violet like violet sapphires. Violet sapphires were one in a million, just like this mystery girl.
(Kitten had always thought she would be horrified to found herself obsessing over a girl, but instead it felt strangely natural. More natural then her feelings for Fang even.)
The mystery girl introduced herself with a:
"Step aside Earthlings! The Queen of the galaxy has arrived!"
Normally, Kitten considered herself the "Queen of the galaxy", but she wouldn't mind sharing it with this girl with violet eyes, black hair and orange skin.
Kitten observed her on the dance floor. She had all the right moves. Plus she looked even cuter in a pink wig. That was definitely something Fang couldn't pull off.
She was about to introduce herself to this mystery girl, but was interrupted by a totally stoned Fang.
"Hey Kitten. Have you seen the pretty flying toasters! They're like, like,...like? Oh yeah, they're the most beautiful thing in the world. Even more beautiful then rainbows. But then again, the flying toaster have the advantage of not being gay. But then again..."
Kitten was forced to spend the rest o the evening listening to Fang's stoned ramblings.
The mystery girl had left before Kitten even got a chance to talk to her. In fact the mystery girl was never seen about town again.
Kitten forced herself to push aside the thoughts of the mystery girl. She needed a date for the prom (that stupid Fang had to break up with her)
She had a date idea that would piss off Fang so much.
"DDDADDDDYYY!" was echoed through the house.
