Hogwarts Idol
Chapter One: The Announcement and sign ups.
" Ladies and Gentlemen, I have an announcement to make!", said Dumbledore. It was the first day back from summer vacation and no one knew what a big difference this little announcement would make to their year. " This year we will have a singing contest. If you are familiar with the muggle show Pop Idol, this will be exactly like it!" This sent a wave of whispers from the students. " I have posted flyers in all the common rooms and through out the school. Now you all may enjoy your feast!"
"I wonder what the contest will be like!", said Ron with his mouth full of food. Everyone in the school had been talking about the contest the whole feast. "Well, lets get a flyer and find out!" exclaimed Hermione. Down in the common room Professor McGonagall read the flyer to everyone in Gryffindor. " Boys and Girls settle down! Now, I will read the Hogwarts Idol flyer to everyone who wishes to hear it. If you don't wish to participate you do not have to stay." Only one or two people left. " Now, the flyer says, Hogwarts Idol will take place from Halloween till the end of the year. There will be different stages of the competition. First, Each house will have auditions and 30 people from each house will be selected. Then, the people who made it will audition again with everyone in the school who was selected and 10 people will be selected. After that those 10 people will sing in front of the whole school and the school will select ONE person to leave the competition each week. When we get down to the final two both people will pick 4 songs. One to sing the first day and two to sing the day of the voting. The results will then be revealed the next night. The prize is a recording contract with Speak Records and a tour over the summer. Good luck and house auditions will be held Halloween Day." The Gryffindor students started to get excited. " Now, Everyone who wishes to audition at the house auditions will sign up tonight. The sheet will be on the table. Sign ups will end at 10:00 pm tomorrow! Good Night!" said Professor McGonagall. " Wow! I am DEFINTELY going to sign up!", said Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny.
