Some people say frosty the snow man is just some silly child's dream who grew up into a song writer, who wrote our famous Christmas carol. But in the town that I grew up in, frosty was a speculated legend. I can tell you that is a true story. The song is accurate that's the way my story goes. I, and my friends, remember the day to a breath. Perhaps we should take a step back in time.
"Dylan get up! It's Christmas!" said my little sister jumping on my bed.
"Alright! Alright! I'm up." I wake up and groggily say those words. Allison, my little sister, has obviously been up for a few hours.
"Yay we can finally open presents!"she is unapparent to the fact it is 6 o'clock in the morning.
We open presents. Early in the morning, it's a cold snowy day. All I want to do is sit by the fire and read my new copy of The Great Gatsby, that I got for Christmas. But that was impossible. I had to go to church with my family, and play with my friends in the park. Church was uneventful. We paid our respects to Jesus then ate bread and wine, and left. Then I left them to go play in the park with my friends Jim, Jack, and Tom.
"Can I go too?" asked Allison.
"No! You wouldn't have fun! Mom Please Don't let her go!" I was desperate. I didn't want her to come. I wanted to have fun with my friends, NOT my little sister.
"She can go if she wants to Dylan, after all it's Christmas." said mom and I stamped off to go meet my friends in the park.
"Wait for me!" said Allison slowly putting her boots on.
"Hurry up!" I called and walked out the door into the cold. "Come on!"
We walk out the house and down the road a little bit then she asks
"why won't you ever let me come play with you?"
"Because..You're a girl, and I'm a boy.... and you wouldn't like the stuff we do anyway." I try to explain to her, but it doesn't work quite so well as I'd hoped. She pouts.
"Can Victoria come to?" she asks. This gets my spirits up. Allison's friend Victoria's sister is the most gorgeous creature on this side of the Ohio river. Miss Betty Grainier.
"Yes, if" oops!... I almost asked her if Victorias sister could come too but I remembered that she is my little sister, and she wouldn't understand.
"Here's her house" Allison says as we walk up to the door of an old, very old, big, brown house.
We knock on the door and Betty answers. I'm shocked by her good looks, speechless.
"Hi.....we....uhh......w...ww..wa" I stumble out. Then I'm interrupted by Allison.
"want you and your sister to come play with us in the park." she said like a pro.
"Sure" she said "Vickki! Come here!" she yelled up the stairs. "Please come in." we go in the their large, grand, mansion of a house. "Mom, can Vickki and I go to the park with some friends?"
"Sure, but be home by Six, and wear proper clothes this time" Says her mother. She smiles.
"Victoria! Hurry up!" She yells. This makes me chuckle, because I remember saying something not so unlike it about 15 minutes ago. Victoria comes out and we all skip off to the park to meet with Jim, Jack, and Tom. Won't they be surprised when they see who's with me.
