B i r d s; The Prologue
"Mommy… mommy…" I kept tugging at her skirt, why wouldn't she answer me? Why? I wanted to know the answer. The birds were choking the sky with their smoke, why would they do this? "Mommy!" I tugged again. "Shh…" she said to me, putting her finger over her lips. "Mommy!" "Sarah… just look. And appreciate… this is… the last of the sky you will ever see."
I didn't completely understand then. I thought that maybe there was just a storm that the birds were bringing… but I could tell it was more, so I was quiet, and I watched in awe. I knew that she was telling the truth, and I would never see the sun…or the moon… or the stars again.
That dream.. I don't know... If it's real or not. Memories and dreams tie together here. Because honestly, you can't tell when you're dreaming and when you're awake... Even when you are in Zion.
