Chapter 3
Mikasa's POV:
When Eren grabs my hand and take me to his room, I was really confused as to what he was about to do. And ever since he unlocks some sort of time manipulation ability, his speed is faster than mine as well.
"Eren? Why did you bring me here?" I decide to ask, and Eren sighs.
"I'm sorry, Mikasa. I just want to talk to you alone." Eren says.
Talk to me alone? Is he going to do that? But I'm not ready yet... I...
"Mikasa... when I passed out this morning, I told you about the future memory thing, right? The outside world sees us as devils who can turn into Titans and they will kill us without a care in the world. I used to think that outside the walls was freedom, but it's just more death..."
"I'm sure we'll find a way to get through all of this, Eren." I say.
"Mikasa... do you know I have an aunt?" I look at him with confusion, all I know is that Dr. Yeager is from outside the walls, but he never told me anything about his other family.
"She was murdered when she was 8 years old. She was fed to the dogs just because she left the Internment zone while the police promised that they would take her back home safely. And it was also the same police officer that turned all of my Dad's friends into Titans... this is the world that waits for us all."
"Eren... I'll always protect you from it if I have to. The day my parents were murdered, you saved me and gave me my freedom. I will make sure that you gave me my freedom and I will make sure that you get the freedom that you wish and deserve." I say.
Eren stares at me before he says in a cool tone, "Mikasa... did you know what Founder Ymir showed me in those memories?"
I was confused, and Eren continued, "The future was not set in stone, but there are a lot of turning points that will cause a different future. All the future paths that lead to the Rumbling... there are several of them that were stopped before all the population outside were killed. Do you know who stopped it?"
I was confused about what he meant, and he puts his hand on my shoulder. "You. You were the one that beheaded me that caused the Rumbling to stop, and I was the one who asked you to do it."
Just as he says that I can feel horror and agony in my heart, me? Kill Eren? How could I do it? Why would he make me do this?
"This... this has to be a joke... I can't kill you... I-" I stutter with tears in my eyes.
"You said you can't kill me... then why? Why do you care so much about me?" Eren asks.
"Eh?" I stare at him with shock.
"Is it because I saved you when you were little? Or is it because I'm your family?" Eren asks.
I start to feel my face becoming red, but the tears are still there, and Eren continues to ask, "What am I to you?"
Should I tell him the truth? But what if he doesn't return the same feelings? No, I'm strong, I'm stronger than anyone... if he doesn't feel the same way, I'm sure I can handle it.
"You're... my family... and also the man that I love..." I say, hoping the worst is coming.
Eren widens his eyes as he looks at me, and he seems to give a little frown. "What do you mean by the man that you love?"
"It's exactly as I said, you are the man that I love... always have been..." I start to regret saying it out loud, but then I notice that Eren sits on the bed beside me.
"Mikasa, I'm happy that you think so about me. However, what if I have another girl who speaks the same thing to me? Will you care about it?" Eren asks me.
I widen my eyes in horror, that means someone likes Eren just like I did... who is she? Is she going to take Eren away from me? What if Eren chose the girl and not me? I feel like I want to go alone, but Eren grabs my hand and stops me.
"Mikasa. Wait, just hear me out before you say anything." Eren says to me. "During these days, I have been struggling to pick either of you, but it is too hard for me to choose because I don't want to break either of your heart. That's why I want to ask if I have another girlfriend other than you?"
I stare at him, I know that Eren is not some sort of playboy. But I have to know who is the person first... who was the one that tries to steal Eren from me...
"Who is it?" I ask, and Eren seems to notice my disheartening feeling.
"In those future memories, everyone from the 104th including you doesn't support me for using the Rumbling... all but one... and that's... the queen. The queen wants to propose a marriage with me and I will become the King because of it." Eren says.
Queen Historia? Of course, it has to be her. Both of them have been spending time together just after we joined the Levi Squad, and they have been victims of the old royal family... I should've noticed that it had to be her.
"Historia said that after I become a King, she wouldn't mind for me to take another wife... and I really don't want to break either of your feelings..." Eren says slowly, I think he is carefully choosing his words. "If I refuse her, not only I would break her heart, but I would also put her in a dangerous position that she would be treated as a baby-making machine by the other royals. And I don't want that..."
"So you also have feelings for her... how long?" I decide to ask.
"Ever since she dropped the Christa disguise, I really like the real her." Eren says. "She was willing to become the worst girl in the world for me... and...the Founding Titan was originally stolen by her family, it was a way to return the favor."
I stare at him, and I can tell Eren really cares about Historia, but Eren continues, "And you... you are willing to protect me from everything that was going to happen, and you were always by my side... despite the I only have 8 years left to live, you still want to find a way to break the curse...It's just... argh... I really can't choose either one of you..."
"Eren." I decided to squeeze his hand and say, "I want you to be happy. If you think this is the only way of being happy, then I will support you."
"Mikasa..." Eren finally smiles at me, and he pulls me into a hug, "I'm glad you understand."
Eren's POV:
I'm really happy that Mikasa understands my anxiety... but just as I hug her, I also feel that I'm back on the path again.
"What the hell, Mother Ymir?" I notice the girl looking at me.
"Relax... I have some good news for you..." Ymir says to me. "The 13-year curse happened because of my death, however, I found a way to break the curse."
"Really? How should I do it? Tell me now." I can't believe what I'm hearing. That means I might not be dying after 8 years after all.
"Follow me." I follow Founder Ymir to coordinate, and I saw the past of Founder Ymir being hit by the spear.
"My daughters, Maria, Rose, and Sina. Each of them inherited three of the Titan powers by devouring my body. However, if they manage to contact me just before my death... I could just transfer the powers to them..."
I look at Founder Ymir with shock. "So you mean... I have the Founder and the Attack... if I have another shifter help me out, we can just transfer the 3 powers to either one of your daughters, and the two of us won't be affected by the curse?"
Founder Ymir nods, and I feel like my heart is becoming lighter. Armin is the Colossal Titan, and I'm sure as my best friend, he will be able to help me out. But just because the two of us break the curse doesn't mean the others are... no, right now we should break Armin and my curse first.
"I'll do it." Eren says. "We'll break the curse no matter what."
Ymir says, and then I hear Mikasa calling out to me again.
"Eren!" I feel myself back in the present, and I stare at her and say, "I'm fine, Mikasa. The Founder brought me back to the paths again..."
"What did she want this time?" Mikasa asks me with confusion.
"She wants to tell me... a way to break the curse of Ymir..." I say carefully, and Mikasa seems to be delighted as she asks, "Really? Is there a way?"
"Yes, and I need Armin's help since he's also one of the nine like me." Eren says.
After that, we manage to hurry to Armin's room, Armin was about to sleep when he notices the two of us. "Eren? What's the matter?"
"Armin... I think I found a way to break our curse of Ymir." I say, and it causes Armin to open his eyes wide with shock.
"Really? How?" Armin asks, and then I drag both of them into the paths with me. Since it is the first time the two of them are on the paths, Armin asks, "What the... where are we?"
"This is the Paths, where the Founder connects to all of the Subjects of Ymir. I bring you here because I want you two to meet Founder Ymir." I say.
The two of them are surprised to see a girl walking beside me. Mikasa says, "So this is the Founder Ymir?"
"Follow me..." As the three of us walk to the coordinate, we see the assassination. Armin says, "So what are we going to do?"
Ymir says, "Channel three of the powers into the coordinate... that's what I hope..."
Armin and I look at each other before we touch the Coordinate at the same time, I feel like my energy is being sucked and I slightly kneel.
"Eren!" Mikasa is worried about me, and we also noticed Armin feeling the same way.
After what seems like a minute, I see the youngest sister, Sina, rush towards her mother just after she was shot by the weapon, and Ymir quickly transferred the powers to her as she felt a zap coming inside her.
Once we let go, we lie on the paths and I ask, "Did it work?"
"My youngest daughter Sina got the powers of three titans without eating me. However, Maria and Rose would still eat me and the other 6 would still have the curse." Ymir says.
"We can think about it later... but I'm glad...you won't be dying after 8 years." Armin says.
Mikasa says, "Yeah... you two did it."
The three of us manage to smile at one another, and the Founder seems to be relieved as well.
And here is a new chapter, in this chapter, I decided to write another way to break the Curse of Ymir. I also make Mikasa's confession this early and I hope you like this chapter. The next chapter will be the sea.
