Chapter 9

Reiner's POV:

The war is finally over, it has been four years since the Mid-East Nations fought against us. "Four years we wasted squabbling over a peninsula's sovereignty. And our two main battle Titans were nearly shredded by the enemy fleet. Human ingenuity surpasses and shatters Marley's Armor at last. The press from other nations is commending the Mid-East Forces. Does this sound like a victory for Marley to you? Magath, do you care to comment?"

Commander Magath says, "General, I'm afraid the time has come. That is, humanity has eclipsed the Power of the Titans. While we've been relying heavily on Titans and colonial expansion, other nations have been developing weapons to counter us. As a result, our strategy has come back to bite us in the ass. However, if aircraft keep advancing at this rate, bombs will soon fall like rain. All while Titans, the devils of the earth, can do nothing but look up and watch."

When they are talking, I have been wondering how it goes on like this... then I remember that it is because we failed to retrieve the Founding Titan... not only that, Annie, Bertolt, and Marcel... all three of them were lost in the process.

"We should resume the Paradis Island Operation and recover the Founding Titan." Zeke says. "As Commander Magath was saying, Marley needs to develop better weapons. However, the world will not stand by and wait. Our military needs time to completely restructure. But for that, the newspapers of the world must read this: 'Marley occupies Paradis and Wields the Power of all Titans."

As Zeke is saying, I wasn't paying attention to it. I would rather not go back to Paradis... there are a lot of nice people, and I just betray their trust and now they are willing to kill me... I wonder how many times have I escaped death there...

"The sick exploits of Grisha Yeager should be brought to an end by none other than me, his former son." When I heard that, I start to remember Eren... I heard that Grisha Yeager was the leader of the Eldia Restorationists, and Zeke was the one who turned him in as he turned into a Titan in Paradis... I wonder if that was the reason he accidentally ate the Founding Titan and give it to Eren until his 13th year was up?

After the meeting, I think I want to just take a rest, but just as I fall asleep, I somehow find myself back at Paradis, and I also see how Mikasa almost tries to kill me... and it is not just her... I also remember how Eren controlled the Titans and I almost got eaten because of it.

I wake up and I take heavy breaths, that really wasn't a pleasant dream. "It seemed like you were having a good dream, so I didn't wake you."

I turn to see Galliard, who is sitting by the table. "I still haven't thanked you for back then Galliard... Thank you."

"Don't thank me. If I inherited the Armored Titan nine years ago, this wouldn't have happened. My brother wouldn't have protected you and been eaten by a Titan, either."

I frown as I remember Marcel telling me that I only get the Titan because of him, I frown as he is right this whole time. "You saw Marcel's memories?"

"No, but I learned enough from that girl before me, Ymir. What an impressive name for such a pitiful woman. Isn't thanks to her that we got my brother's Jaw back?"

"Yeah." I say. Ymir's willingness to let herself eaten is somewhat surprising to me, but I guess deep down inside she isn't as selfish as she was.

"What the hell were you doing on that island? Getting saved by someone new every day? I saw how you were acting through her memories. What's with that? Pretending to be a reliable guy, huh? I'd say you were imitating my brother!"

He was right... I was stupid to think I would become Marcel as I promised... Pieck comes in and says, "Pock, let's not pick on people who just took cannons to the face."

"Quit calling me that, Pieck." Galliard yells at her.

"You all right?" I ask since it has been a while since I see her in her human form.

"It's been two months since I've been human." She sits down across my bed. "I kinda forgot the whole bipedal thing. By the way, Reiner... You oughta see Gabi and the others. They're worried about you."

"I think I will." I sigh as I leave the room, to be honest, I am not in the mood to argue with Galliard. I found Gabi, Falco, Udo, and Zofia. The four of them are at the port while I see Udo kicking some sort of pier.

"Cut it out, Udo. Don't beat up the city." I say to him.

"Reiner!" My cousin comes to me and asks, "You're okay to walk?!"

"Yeah. You guys all right? Gabi, Udo, Zofia, and Falco?" I ask, and they assure me that they're fine.

"Hey! They said we're going back to Liberio! Let's walk around till then!" Gabi says.

The children are excited to look around, and it somehow reminds me of Bertolt, Annie, and Marcel... damn it... Our happy moment was cut short as we notice a lot of soldiers running around panicking.

"There you are, guys!" I see Colt, Zeke, Galliard, and Pieck rushing toward us. I ask, "What's wrong? What is going on here?"

When Zeke opens his mouth, I feel like fear is coming into my mind. "Liberio is under attack. The Island Devils are there."

Annie's POV:

When Eren gives us the green light to use the paths, we know it is time for us to attack, and when Armin blows up the port, the ships, which turn out to have only soldiers in there, explode after Armin's transformation.

The people in Liberio were just celebrating their victory, and now they are panicking and running for their lives because of the sudden attack. Armin gets out of the Titan's body and swings his ODM gear beside me.

"Annie, you should go find your father, find him before it's too late." Armin says to me.

"Okay. Just stay alive." I say as I quickly rush into the crowd and hope to find my father. And I manage to find him, he's running just like the other citizens.

"Father!" I call out to him, and he seems to be shocked to hear my voice, he stops and turns to me. "Annie, is that you?"

"Father! I'm back." I quickly hug him, and he is also happy to see me again.

"Annie... please tell me it's a dream..." My father says to me, just my luck, the moment has to be cut off. "What are you doing, Annie? Hurry up and bring your father out of here!"

Sasha is the one calling to me and I nod. "Father. Listen to me, I'm not siding with Marley anymore, after living in Paradis for years, I realize that Marley has deceived us this whole time. Everyone in Paradis is not a devil... and the King and the Queen... not only do they offer me a new home, but they also make me stronger as a Female Titan. That's why, Papa, I'm going to bring you to Paradis."

My father seems to have a lot to take in, but he nods, "If what you say is right, then I will believe you."

I nod as I quickly bring my father to the airship, where Hange is waiting. "Commander Hange, my father is here, please protect him while I'm doing the King's mission."

"Of course." Hange says. "We're counting on you."

And after that, I finally use my ODM gear and start to swing around like the other people.

Historia's POV:

After Armin destroys the port, the remaining soldiers finally come out and try to attack us. I know that I'm pregnant, but I still want to make a difference, and it is a good thing that Captain Levi and Jean have been protecting me.

"The Island Devils are here! We'll protect our motherland from the devils!" One of the generals yells at us as they prepare all sorts of cannons to fight against us. But thanks to the ODM gear, our scouts manage to dodge all the attacks and the cannons are also destroyed by the Thunder Spear.

As we continue to move forward, I was also becoming the target of the military as they try to shoot at us, but Jean and Levi are reflecting the attacks with their blades and also throwing Thunder Spears at them.

"Damn it... of all the people, why would I have to be the bodyguard of all things..." Jean mutters.

"That's why you shouldn't have come with us." Levi says.

"No, I have to come. I refuse to stand by and watch." I say while holding the rifle and shooting the soldiers who try to do a sneak attack.

And then I see two bolts of lightning, and both Armin and Annie transform and start to attack the soldiers, with their new abilities, the soldiers have been completely wiped out and some are forced to retreat.

"Is that Annie Leonhart? One of the Warriors?" One soldier seems to recognize her.

"She has betrayed Marley for the island of devils? We should kill her!"

Heh, good luck trying to kill Annie, I don't know if you can do it. As we move forward, we manage to arrive at a hospital, and we force our way inside, causing a lot of patients and officials to be terrified.

I say, "I am the Queen of the current Eldia Empire. My forces are now occupying this part of the Liberio. I want to ask if this is the Eldian Hospital?"

A doctor steps forward and says, "It is... please spare the patients! They have done nothing against you, there is no reason to kill them! All we do here is an attempt to relieve them of their pain! I beg of you, do not harm them, or my colleagues!"

"All of you Eldians, do not worry. We are not here to harm you. The reason we're here is to take back what belongs to Eldia, nothing more." I walk towards the doctor and say, "And you seem to be the bravest of all the people here. Tell me, what's your name, doctor?"

The doctor stares at me and says, "Most of the patients call me Dr. Yeager."

I was right, and I can see that both Levi and Jean also widen their eyes in shock. The man seems to be panicked as I ask, "Yeager? Are you perhaps the father of Grisha Yeager?"

Dr. Yeager freezes and gasps in shock. "H-how... how did you... Grisha... is he fine?"

I smile and say, "I'm sorry to say that Grisha Yeager passed away, however, he was saved by my troops and he married and had another son, and that son is the current King of Paradis, my husband. We're family, Dr. Yeager."

This causes Dr. Yeager to gasp in shock, he kneels and I decide to give him the letter, a letter that Eren found in his basement and wants to give to Dr. Yeager himself. I turn to Levi and says, "Captain Levi, this is going to be a safe zone for me. Our soldiers will need your help."

Levi nods as he leaves, and Jean asks, "What about me?"

"You're still going to stay here with me." I say, causing him to frown.

Here is a new chapter, and as you can see, the attack on Liberio finally begins, the next chapter will be Eren and Mikasa's point of view.
