The sun shone for all it was worth up until that moment. It melted far beyond what kohl rimmed eyes allowed him to see. It sunk beyond the depths of even the ocean's bottom. And it was at that moment as well, when two opposing forces shared the skies, that the near empty bottle shone in the glow they'd created. He wrapped his lips around the mouth of it as it's satisfying taste slid down his throat. An ocean of memories lay before him, untouched since their creation. The sails rattled in the light breeze with anticipation, much like his own.

His palm, still scarred much like their own, was the souvenir in which he was forced to own forevermore. The past was never far. That same calloused hand brushed his flying dreadlocks from his determined face; hair so untamed was difficult to hold, even under the restraints of a patterned bandanna.

When he'd arrived, he had snuck through the village in the most cardinal of measures. He pattered lightly on the window until one responded to his calls and entered with the utmost ease.

"How's my girl?" He spoke with such fragility that the words that resounded through the air were barely uttered above a whisper. He lightly caressed the face that had gained even more beauty with age before her chance to answer had transpired.

His face shone with happiness as the light belonging solely to the skies shone in the distance. He felt somewhat warmer nestled beneath the covers, somehow loved for nestled between the only remaining two of importance.

A comfortable silenced loomed over the odd assortment of companions, a comfort unknown, not comprehensible nor meaningful by any other.

The young boy was first to break the satisfying silence as his face gleamed with the love he pocessed for the two beside him. "How's the sea, Jack?"

"I miss you." The words told the man's tale clearer than any other explanation may bring to the unvoiced conversation. He entwined their fingers within his own as though the moment would cease to end.

And she, filled with no emotion other than love, he with the pure heart, and their elder, wise beyond his years, closed their eyes to the world as they dreamt. Dreaming...Dreaming of places where they'd live together forever. Floating beyond reality.
