Just a Moment

Her tears fell silently as she felt her body being wrapped with two arms around her waist, "I promise to never leave you," he said his voice thick.

She whimpered and leaned against him, "tell me that didn't happen," she said her eyes closed tightly, "tell me we didn't see that."

He held her closer, his body shaking, "if I did," he said his voice cracking slightly, "I'd be lying to you."

She cried harder holding tightly to the arms around her waist, "what are we going to do?"

"I don't know," he said before sniffing, "should we head back to Dumbledore?" He asked this as he let her go.

She stared at him and looked behind her, "we're damned cowards."

"Hermione!" Ron said eyes wide a small smile on his lips.

Hermione glared at him, "I'm dead serious! This wouldn't have happen if we have just stayed!"

Ron shook his head, "he didn't want us too."

Hermione leaned back and her back touched the wall, "he always told us that but did we listen before?"

"No" he snapped, "but should we feel guilty for this? It was the last battle, he was our captain, what were we to do?"

"Stay!" She retorted, "we should've stayed and let him…live."

"How?" He asked his anger climbing, "then we would've died along side him!"

"Would that be better then being here?" She asked and the question hung for a mere moment before Ron fell to his knees crying.

"Yes," he said before Hermione came to him, "We're bloody fucking fools."

She held him close, "we'll have a service before it's officially over."

He touched her face gingerly, "they'll try and kill you."

She nodded, "I know; they'll mostly likely try and torture you," she said her voice sarcastic but her laughed- hollow like -at that, "Ron?"

He looked at her and she breathed in deeply, "I'm scared."

He held her and kissed her head, "I am too," he said holding her closer, "I don't want to lose you."

She whimpered and tried pulling him against him closer as if wanting him to melt against her and be with her forever, "me too."

He held her, looked up, and said aloud with Hermione soon joining him, "To the life and the soul of Harry James Potter we shall miss forever."
