Author's note: Random little fic. Any suggestions for 'Love' will be greatly appreciated! Hint, hint…
Anyway, this is a silly little Rimmer/Holly fic, nothing much in it. Ho hum. Actually it's really stupid. But don't let that stop you reading it. It's very short, not even one page on Word, and I will not be adding any more chapters. You've nothing to lose. Go on, force yourself. And review it while you're at it. Are you still reading this Author's note? You really have too much spare time. You could be doing so much more with your life than reading this Author's note. Like reading the story itself. Lalalaaaa. I watched Monty Python earlier today. It was very funny. Still reading? Fair enough, at least someone likes me. This Author's note will end up being longer than the fanfiction in a minute! I'd better stop, my wrists are hurting. Ooh, "Tomb Raider" is on! I forgot! But I set the timer on the video, so it's recorded at least. Are you seriously still reading this? Please tell me in your lovely review (nudge nudge ;) wink wink) if you read this all the way through. Then I can point at you and laugh and say, "you're really sad". This has pushed the fanfic into it's second page in Word. Do you like 'Risk'? If you don't, you may or may not like this story. If you do you may or may not like this story. On with the plot… I'll probably write a more serious fiction after I complete 'Love' (if I ever complete it!) with the female Holly, because there aren't enough about her. This is actually why I wrote this fanfiction. Wow, you still here!? You're a saint. I'm going to let you read the story now:
Holly was bored. Not that she wasn't usually bored, boredom was part of everyday life aboard Red Dwarf, but today she had a special reason for being bored: Rimmer was telling her yet another 'Risk' story. With actions. How she wished she could just switch off his hologram.
"Then I rolled a four and a two…"
Well, she could. There was nothing really stopping her.
"He retaliated with double sixes…"
There was just a part of her, albeit a very small part of her, which told her not to.
"But he was struck down by a one and a three…"
Although, she had to admit, sometimes it was very tempting.
"And I was back in with double fives…"
This was definitely one of those times.
"Then I rolled a six and a five…"
She could do it. One action and he would be gone.
"Once more I picked up the dice…"
Holly really, seriously, absolutely, positively did not want to know what he did with them.
"Caldecott was glaring at me…"
She didn't care.
"I took a sip of whisky to steady my nerves…"
If Holly was human, she would be on her tenth whisky by now.
"I shook the dice and rolled them…"
She realised she could be learning another language.
"We both stared intently at them as they gradually stopped…"
But there wouldn't be any room in her memory because of all the stupid 'Risk' stories Rimmer had told her.
"All I needed was a double three to stay in the game…"
No wonder Holly was going senile!
"They stopped and there was a tense silence…"
There was a bored silence.
"Rimmer," Holly broke it, "is this story actually going to end?"
Rimmer looked hurt, "I thought you enjoyed my 'Risk' stories…"
Holly smiled and shook her head, "I really don't."
