AN: Just a little thing I put together while working on a picture of the same subject. My first Inuyasha-related non-InuSan story. I only hope this turns out as nice as some of my other stories.
Warning: Spoiler for manga chapter 374 (which has not been seen in the anime) is ahead. If you don't want to be spoiled, don't read. You've been warned.
Disclaimer: Inuyasha and all characters do not belong to me in any way, shape, or form.

She was the free wind now. Free to go where she wanted, and when she wanted, without having anyone tell her any different.
It was strange... He used to not care what happened to the wind-user. It wouldn't have bothered him if she had died early on; in fact, he had wanted to kill her for what she had done.
But, something had changed over time... She had changed... Or, maybe it wasn't that she had changed, but that he had realized.
She wasn't a murderess who killed in cold blood. She was a prisoner. A prisoner who ended lives in order to keep hers.
However, time had caught up to Kagura. All her betrayals, her not-so-secret wishes, and her untamable spirit; all had caught up to her. And, because of that, she had finally met her demise.
An angry growl emitted from deep within his throat, as his hands clutched into fists at his sides. She hadn't deserved to die. She had only wanted one, simple thing in life; freedom.
Was that really a suitable reason to kill someone? Because they wanted freedom? Did everyone who desired freedom deserve to be killed by that bastard now?
A gentle, calming breeze began to wisp across the lands then. It blew through his hair, and tickled his face as he closed his eyes, letting the breeze cool down his already angered temper.
'It's okay. I'm free... and I'm happy.'
He could imagine the wind-demoness saying those words, as the breeze continued to blow gently. His eyes opened again, and immediately caught the swift movements of a feather as it gracefully danced down from the sky. It had appeared out of nowhere, it seemed...
As the feather continued to float down towards him, he caught it in his hand, then looked at it as it lay still in his palm.
'I'm okay now. Don't worry.'
Was this her way of bidding him farewell? In some, not quite understandable way, was she letting him know that, while she wasn't there physically, she was still there, somehow?
He realized, he liked that idea.
"Yo, Kouga!"
Ginta's voice broke through the quiet scenery, and Kouga turned to watch as his two underlings ran over.
"The wolves you sent out on patrol are back. They think they found Naraku's trail." Hakkaku explained to the tribe leader.
"Should we go?" Ginta asked, once Hakkaku had finished.
Kouga nodded firmly before turning to look into the sky once more, "Take the wolves and head out. I'll be there in a minute."
Hakkaku and Ginta exchanged a slightly confused look, but both knew better than to argue with Kouga.
"Okay, Kouga, if that's what you want." Hakkaku said, glancing to Kouga, before motioning to Ginta and running off.
Ginta followed close behind.
Once they were gone, Kouga let go of the feather that had been clutched in his hand and his eyes narrowed slightly in determination. 'One thing's for sure.' He thought, as he turned and sprinted after Ginta and Hakkaku.
"Your death won't go unnoticed, Kagura."

AN: So... how was it? Like it? Hate it? Don't care?
I just wanted to try something different, and this is another alternate pairing that I'm beginning to like. Well, back to my other stories now.
