Little Boy Lost
Ch 1 Long summer days.
Harry Potter sat all alone in his bed room at number four with only his thought for company. Not that he minded all the much at all. His Aunt, Uncle and cousin where not the kind of company he wanted anyways. Harry you see was not your typical boy. Harry was a wizard! Harry loved being a wizard even though his family (not that he wanted them as family anyways) did not approve of "his kind," as they so like to put it.
It was a long hot summer day and Harry was looking over his school books to try to keep himself from thinking about the awful events that happened in the Ministry of Magic a few weeks earlier. Harry kept seeing his good father fall threw the Veil in that graceful arc in slow motion over and over again.
Harry slammed his potions book closed, "This is useless," he muttered to himself. Hedwig, his beautiful snowy owl hooted from atop her cage where she sat watching Harry with big sad amber eyes. Harry looked up at Hedwig, "I just cant stop thinking about Sirius, "He wailed, burring his head in his folded arms atop his desk trying to hold back his sobs.
Hedwig hooted with sympathy and swooped down to Harry's shoulder and nipped his ear affectionately. "Thanks girl," Harry said wiping away his tears while stroking her beautiful wings. "you're the only friend I have here with me until school starts again." Hedwig hooted knowingly as Harry continued to pet her.
Harry's thoughts drifted back to the Ministry of Magic. Harry herd a soft taping noise coming from his window. Harry rubbed his red swollen eyes and then came back in to focus. Pigwidon, his best friends small little owl was buzzing around out side with a letter attached to his leg. Harry opened the window as Pig (as Ron liked to call him) flew in and stared to zoom around the room in fast circles.
Harry smiled and shook his head and tried to catch a hooting excited Pig. After a few failed attempts Harry finally caught the small owl and untied the letter from its leg. Harry carefully unfolded the letter. Smiling to himself Harry read his letter:
Dear Harry,
How are things? Things here are good. Mum says she'll send more stuff to eat with my next letter. Harry I'm going to get right to the point, I'm worried about you mate. Your last letter was so short! I've got great news that's sure to boost your mood. Mum says we are going to come and get you soon! She wont say when but soon! So hang tight and keep your nose clean & I'll see you soon.
Ron
Harry couldn't help but let out a whoop of happiness. He loved being at the burrow with Ron and his family. Much better than being at number for with Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and Dudley. At least Ron's family made Harry feel right at home.
"Thank goodness Hedwig," Harry exclaimed tossing her and Pig some owl treats in an attempt to calm Pig down. "I was beginning to wonder when someone would get us out of here," Harry sat back down at his desk with a plop. "I'm going to send my letter to Ron back with Pig," Hedwig gave Harry a reproachful look before he could continue, "Now now Hedwig, I want you to take my weekly letter to the order then go back to the burrow and help out Pig with the goodies Ron's mum is sending back for us."
Hedwig hooted to let Harry know she understood. Harry picked up a quill and parchment and begun to write his letters.
