Magenta

It had been about a month since Tanner had dumped me. Tanner was a brown dog with dark brown ears, and white eye patches.

When I'm in a crowd

Or on an island by myself

Silent or too loud

Wishing I were somewhere else

I was on my way to the library. I thought that a good mystery might cheer me up. I wasn't watching where I was going, and I crashed into another pup. He looked about my age. He had gray fur and a light gray stomache. His warm brown eyes looked very friendly.

And I can't believe

You hit me fast and hard

When you turn to me and say

"Whoops!" I said, "Sorry!"

The gray puppy smiled. "It's no problem. By the way, my name is Scamp. What's yours?"

Never change the way you are

I smiled. "My name is Magenta."

Trying to catch your eye

Things will never look the same

Scamp grinned. "So Magenta, you from around here?"

"Yes. Are you?"

Now I can't deny

"Uh huh. You uh...doin anything tonight?"

I blushed. "No. Why?"

Scamp blushed too. "I just thought you might wanna, you know, hang out. I could introduce you to my family if you want."

I'm falling through the door

Flying 'cross the floor

When you look at me suddenly it's clear

I was speechless, so I just nodded.

What goes on inside

Is a mystery no doubt

A roller coaster ride

"Ok." I said as he left, "See you tonight."

Skates around and floats on air

I'm a sight to see

Rainbow colors in my hair

"Later, Magenta." Scamp said, and ran off.

The one who gets me there
