Hello everyone and thank you for choosing my story to read. My word is my bond is a naruto x yakumo it will have violence and maybe a lemon or two. I have two other story's I'll be updated too I don't have a schedule so no promises it gets a third chapter by the end of the year.
Chapter one meeting the sarutobi's
An fourteen year old boy with messy blond hair walked down the dirt road he had on a black hat with a orange band around the brim that keep most of his hair out of his blue eyes. On both of his cheeks he had three black lines that were thin but noticable. He wore a black jacket and a red union suit for the last three weeks since he last washed his clothes in a large creek when he first crossed into monatana. This boy name was Naruto uzumaki and he'll be known as one of the greatest gunslingers in the history of the wild west. Today as his feet begun to cause him pain he didn't feel all that great.
When Naruto was born october ten 1856 a fox spirit attack his place of birth. His mother and his father were legendary gunfighters or so said Tuchi a long time friend of naruto parents. Tuchi once was a gunfighter who severed the law with narutos father Minato Namikaze but retired before he was killed and started a restruant in kanasa where he brought naruto when his parents were killed taking him from a oragnhage before he was three months old.
To hide who his father was form his father enemies tuchi told to take the last name uzumaki a clan of outlaws who evaded caputure for more than fifty years cause of their advance knowladge of the art called fuinjutsu this clan of outlaws was also the clan of which the women known as Kushina uzumaki was born to this, wild women was the mother of young naruto. When naruto left he took a horse named buttercup and half fulled saddle bags of food ammunation for a six shooter tuchi bought him. Amaye tuchi's daughter begged him for a week not to leave out west saying he was to young being only fourteen but tuchi said he killed just a few years older than naruto, tuchi also gave him a surply of food for three monthes this was four monthes ago and two weeks ago naruto had started to travel the last fifty some miles on foot cause outlaws took him by surpise as he slept left him with nothing but half the ammo he was given and two weeks worth of food cause their leader took pity on the boy heading west on his lonesome.
Naruto's feet hurt like he's been stepping on nails for the last two miles, nothing ever hurt like this before. Naruto stopped walking and sat down under the shade of a tree. He wished he had somewhere to go but he was wandering for miles three days ago. He last saw a town but had no money to buy a new horse so he kept walking for miles again.
The uzumaki opened the bag of food he had left and ate what after sometime naruto feet stopped hurting and he could walk once again he traveled four miles before he saw who he thought were a father and son fishing by a river bank. Naruto stopped and wathced them he knew he had no food after tommorow and orogan was still another hundred and fifty odd miles away, so naruto did the only thing he could think of doing and yelled hello causing the man and the child to look over their left and right shoulders to see him standing ontop of the hill they were at the bottom of. The man waved his hands at Naruto and he started walking down the hill. He hoped they wouldn't ask him to move on.
"Hello there kid, are you in trouble?" asked the man, an olive skinned man who had dark hair and a beard around his cheeks and chin but was shaved at the top of his lips.
The boy next to him wore a scarf that was a few feet too long and looked to be ten or eleven years old with a mess of brown hair under a white hat that gave shade to his whole face. "Not reaaly a few weeks back i got robbed of my food and horse from some outlaws got real lucky if i'm honest you know, anyways i was hoping you could give me a place to stay on my trip out west i'll work for your family to payoff a horse i promise i'll work hard and cause no trouble with you or any locals'' naruto said as he reached the bottom of the hill and stepped onto the rock covered surface of the river bank.
The man looked like he was giving it honest thought which filled the wandering boy with hope.
"I don't know i'll ask my father when we get back to the ranch but i can offer you a meal and a bed to sleep in for the night on my family ranch the Sarutobi ranch just up north a mile or two you can ride my nephew konohamaru, konohamaru you let him ride he's older and i trust he wo't get you both killed, okay oh before i forget i'm asuma sarutobi what's your name?"
To be honest naruto wanted to give this man his full name but knew that the name uzumaki had a bad ring to it "naruto… just naruto never knew my folks before they passed asuma sir" the uzumaki said.
The child looked at naruto with a look of displeasure as if naruto had come and shot his dog before him.
After a few minutes it took for Asuma to pack away the fishing gear and the few trout they caught into a bad and tied said bag to the saddle of his horse they rode north threw a pretty green forest atop a rolling hill. It was an uphill ride for the most part.
Asuma tookm out a cigarette from a cigerette case and asked naruto " i can see your a few years pass a decade but i was wondering if you smoked yet?'' Naruto shook his head, then Asuma asked if he wanted to try one now. Naruto thought about it and choose to take one from asuma he thought this man was kind enough giving him a place to sleep if his father was half as kind as his son then he was sure he'll have a place to work and get a horse to keep going west he wanted to see the pacific ocean before he grew old and he felt like he might die young.
Naruto inhaled the taccbaco smoke for the first time in his life, he saw other men smoke in a tuchi restruant but not till this day had he tried it for himself. It was all that great, it wasn't all that bad.
"Hey mister if you don't mind" konohamaru said "how do you get those marks on your face? Don't look like no scar i ever seen"
Asuma scold konohamaru for his rudeness saying a man past is his own,
"I don't know where I got them from, guess I was born with them."
The boy still had questions like what Naruto's last name was or where he came from but didn't ask them at least not yet.
The sarutobi ranch ad about three corals and large pasture for sheep. The main house was qiute large having three stories to it. Few folk greeted them and asked who the new face was asuma told them all he knew and naruto said nothing more about who he was not after getting run out of that town in Topeka four months ago for what the uzumaki clan did twenty years before he was born. On the porch of the house beutiful women with black hair and red eyes held a baby in her arms. Asuma said hello to kurenai and naruto asumed she was his wife and the child in her arms belonged to asuma. Not just a kind man but a good father maybe to.
"Hello asuma my love, who is this on ringo?'' Kurenai asked, pointing to the horse Naruto and Konohamaru were riding.
Naruto indroduce himself by his first name saying he didn't claim his last name cause it brought more trouble than it was worth. Kurenai smiled and told naruto he was welcome to their family ranch. Soon afterwards an old man with a smile on his face he was the starotype of a grandfather naruto had imagined in his head.
"Asuma i see you brought home a new face… and who is he?" asuma introduce his father to naruto as naruto got off the horse after konohamaru
"It's a pleasure to meet you naruto, how long since you last ate? I'm sure it's been a while if your traveling from the east."
Kurenai went off to put down merai in her nursery as the rest of them walked into the living room. Asuma asked his father where a girl named Yakumo was, the old man told him she was out back in the graden tending to her crops. Naruto asked if she was his and Kurenai's oldest daughter.
"Well in a way yeah she is but she is not mine or kurenai daughter by blood she's from the kurama clan they were wiped out four years ago leaving only her to surieve. Naruto nodded his head not knowing who the kurama clan was. Most of the stories he heard were about people like madara uchicha or hashirama senju or sakumo hatake the white wolf of the south.
Asuma then asked if Naruto liked to learn how to roll a cigerette when he took out a sack of tobacco and rolling papers. The oldest sarutobi watched his last living son act like a father to another lost child of the west.
Soon kurenai came in with coffee and slices of apple pie naruto enjoyed this meal of non beef jerky for as long as the food would allow. Then a pale girl with long brown hair tied up in a ponytail a sun hat and a sundress walked into the room saying hi to asuma and konohamaru but froze for a second when she really looked at naruto she even blushed around her cheeks h..h..hi i'm yakumo kurama and you are sir?'' Naruto chewed and swallowed the pie in his mouth then said "i'm Naruto uz… i don't like it but my last name is uzumaki i'm sorry if you were wronged in the past by them i never meet another uzumaki in my life through" naruto didn't know why he said it the last name flew out his mouth and most people know who wouldn't want to claim his last name that started with U and Z so he came right out and told them. Kurenai and yakumo had their mouths open asuma took a drag off his cigerette and the old man smiled
"I'm Hiruzen Sarutobi. I raised a man named Minato Namikaze after his folks were killed in the crossing over to the west. I also meet the only uzumaki who didn't pay the price for the clans past kushina they were a happy couple who moved back east where law and order where closer to the lives of people out there instead of becoming a local lawman"
It was naruto's turn to be surpised as kurenai was about naruto heritage.
"You… knew my parents?" was all naruto said the old sarutobi nodded "i hiruzen sarutobi have trained four of the best gunfighters in the history of the wild west jiraiya tsunade even the evil bastard orochimaru through i'm no longer proud to admit that anymore, your father was the fourth gunslick to learn how to shoot on this ranch. They all learned how to do much more that shoot a gun and ride a horse they learned how to practice the old way of fighting and became very good that it to boot." hiruzen picked up his pipe from the coffee table and placed a pinch of tobacco into the bowl of the pipe and lit it with a match "so tell me naruto my boy where are you heading?''
The uzumaki shrugged as he lit the cigerette and inhale a drag "i guess to the west coast dip my toes into those water then head on somewhere else maybe mexico or canada and alaska, just don't know old man"
Hiruzen nodded as he smoked from his pipe then he asked how he'll get to these places.
"I was hoping you would let me work off a horse and gear to leave with while I stay here. I promise to work hard, mister hiruzen". Yakumo smiled at the boy, sure he had the last name of a uzumaki but no one would guess it by the way he carried himself.
"I think things can be aranged for you to work for us but i instist i train you for the world teach you to read write shoot ride do all sort of work around this here ranch and the land around it. But first thing first what can you do?" naruto told them at his adoptive father taught him to read and write with the help of his adoptive sister help, and that he could shoot his gun pretty well to which konohamaru said if he was the son of minato he'll be a natureal at shooting guns and fighting causing asuma to laugh at the idea.
"I'm sure naruto is capable of fighting but gunfighting was far different from fist fighting and believe me i fought for the north during the war."
Naruto loved to hear stories of the civil war as it was before his time on this earth by a year but asuma for now told none of his but asuma did tell him to come with him after naruto finnished his coffee and met the foreman.
The foreman on the ranch was none other than the son of sakumo hatake kakashi hatake. Naruto was still surpise to see him. Kakashi had silver hair that seemed to stand up and he covered the lower half of his face with a red bandana covering everything under the ridge of his nose and eyes.
"Howdy asuma is this a new cow puncher for the ranch? Looks young as sasuke is where does he come from?"
"Kansas naruto said. Kakashi raised his left eyebrow but then shrugged his shoulders
"Kakashi hatake pleased to meet you boy, what is your name?"
"naruto" the uzumaki said kakashi nodded and told him what he'll be doing for the days he worked that the ranch when he was to be up when he was to eat and when he'll be paid
Asuma then said "hey kakashi my father said naruto will work off a horse and i believe he will so show him the spar horses we keep on the ranch let him choose one and give him a saddle that of of those dead cowboys left behind"
Naruto asked how the man died.
"He was shot by some rustlers three weeks ago and had no family so we kept most of his things. He can also sleep in that empty bunkhouse in the back of the bunkhouses."
Naruto found the place he was shacking up in was nice a small iron stove for heat in the winter and a bed to sleep in it was nice and small with everything naruto needed. There was three other kids his age on the ranch a girl named sakura form a non famous family and a boy named sasuke uchicha. Now naruto couldn't believe his luck to meet one of the last three uchichas in the world.
The uchicha clan followed the senju to the new world and found work fighting wars from the civil to range wars that was up till five or six years ago when one of the clan owns killed every member beside his kid brother and his girlfriend then rode south and became a hired gun in the south west. Naruto gave the boy space for much of the first week. Naruto was friendly with the uchicha and wondered why he was here and not riding with his brother. Naruto heard that the uchicha were a wild bunch who could set fire with their mouths and clear leather faster than most men alive, they were also known to hunt down anyone who killed a uchicha on the first friday naruto was at the monkey bar ranch he heard gunshots and checked them out with his gun hostered and on him he found sasuke pacticing his drawing and aiming for beer bottles and one whiskey bottle. Naruto watched him draw and shoot so fast it was hard to see his arm move one moment it down low the next its fired the gun and was returning it back to the hoster.
"He's gonna kill his no good brother and his brother's girlfriend for betraying the uchicha clan" said a voice from behind naruto. He reconized the owner of this femine voice as sakura naruto looked back at sasuke and asked how long has he been shooting his short gun for? Naruto asked.
"Since he got to the ranch he used to hit nothing but air but now he's gotten good, tell the truth i'm worried he not as good as itachi through"
The man known around the campfires and saloons of the west known itachi uchicha was the last sharingan and handful of warrents out for his capture from monatana to new mexico and a reputation of the best gun beside maybe a few others who were no longer among the living at this time. Sakura may be right that sasuke age he was a natural with a six shooter but in all truth he might very well be killed by his brother did he face him in a gunfight.
Naruto walked over to sasuke and asked if the uchicha wanted to try his luck in a shooting contest. There were seven bottles left and Sasuke and Naruto agreed that whoever could draw and shoot the most bottles would win ten dallors.
Sakura watched as the boys stood side by side, hands over their guns, naruto counted down from three, then they both shot three bottles. The four couldn't be told who shot it as both shot at the same time. No one won that ten dallors but both boys won a friend.
A week later naruto wrote to his adoptive family back east telling them of everything that happened to him on his trip out west and that he'll be at the ranch for about another six months befor ehe could keep going to the west coast. He told them of yakumo who was by far the prettist girl beside his amaye he ever saw in his life and would hurt leaving so soon after they met but he wasn't ready to settle down in one place for long he was two young wanted to see the wide world or as much as he could. One of his senses like the one that told him to wake up when the outlaws were sinking up on him a month or so back. This time it told him not to send the letter but he didn't listen to it. He walked over to the main house and knocked at the front door which was anwsered by who else other than Yakumo who lit up like a starry night atfer sunset.
"Howdy Naruto, what brings you over here? Want a new book?"
Naruto smiled and shook his head "no i need a letter sent out east i know you go into town around this time or so i was told i hope you'll send it for me"
"Of course i can send it for you just tell me the address and i'll send it out for ya"
Once naruto handed the letter they heard a rifle go off by the horse corral and naruto went off running after telling yakumo to get inside. As naruto neared the gunshot he ran into his bunkhouse to draw his own gun and ran out of his bunk house. He found a man holding his stomach on the dirt and two men tying horses to a rope and then leading them away. Naruto fired trice at them one of the men who weren't saddle shot back spooking his horse it the started to jump around and ended up kicking the rustler in th ass knocking him to the ground by this time kakashi had appeared and was shooting his own rifle that the men causing them to ambanded their buddy. Naruto ran over to the man who was shot and asked if he knew who they were loud enough to hear over the gunshots being exchanged between kakashi and the rustlers.
The uzumaki rolled the pink haired man over from his stomach to his back and asked again the dying man shook his head
"No clue get my daughter and my wife i want to say goodbye to them before i go" naruto told him they'll get a doctor and save his life but the man said he been on the fontier for years and knew a killing shot from one that would allow him to surieve kakashi killed the rustler by now and anrut ran off to find sakura.
She and her mother knew her father worked mostly with the horses and knew he could be in danger and ran over as soon as the shooting stopped. Sakura's father died with his wife and daugther holding his hands and death rode up to his side and took off with his soul.
Sakura cried for about three days afterwards.
The next day Asuma told naruto and sasuke they weren't to come with the posses to hunt down the rustlers and to graud the people on the ranch. The middle aged sarutobi asked naruto to go to town with yakumo and kurenai help them load up surpply in town and then gave naruto twenty dallors "you been wearing those clothes for two weeks at least i know you washed them but buy some new ones kid".
Asuma kakashi and seven other men rode off to kill those men who robbed them and murdered one of their own.
Yakumo soon was getting ready to leave with Yoda Tsuchi, a ranch hand around twenty years old.
"Hey there naruto what you fixin to do?'' Naruto explained Asuma's order to them and Yakumo looked very happy. Naruto climbed into the back of the wagon and they headed off to town.
"So yakumo" naruto said "whats town like i never been there yet"
The kurama looked over her right shoulder and told him about the small settlement of Konoha and how it was founded under the idea of peace but it didn't last vary long after hashirama died back in 1834, she told them it uses to be a town full of uchicha about a thousand of them before the chirstmas massacure, before the states war the senju were run out of town by the uchicha around 1840 most of them fought back and got gunned down by the larger party.
"Ever since then til about 65 they were kings of the west every cattle baron hired them won their range war til itachi crow feeder uchicha killed the lot of them that winter of 65"
Naruto remarked how everything great needs to die one day
Then yoda said "well since 66 the town had lawmen in it once a month Cal Brown ride bewteen every town in the area if he was up by the hoshigaki ranch known as sharktooth ranch. We been having trouble with them ever since the uchicha got killed off they see themself as the strongest bunch in two hundred miles from here all around. Be careful naruto cause they always looking for trouble don't go into town alone."
"Hoshigaki as in Kisame Hoshigaki the shark tail beast?" Naruto asked and Yoda nodded and said, They are the reason I pack my peacemaker. Are you packing naruto?" yoda asked
Naruto nodded and pulled out his colt "won't be much protection for the lady if i wasn't yoda" he said not seeing yakumo blush cause her face was facing forwards but yoda did.
"Well don't even come to town without someone or without that it very valueable keeps a man alive longer than fate would try to see him to live.'' Naruto nodded his head then asked Yakumo what she did during the day.
"I garden as you know when i'm free i paint in fact i'm buying some new paints and canvases in town i have them ordered when i start to use them up…'' she looked back at naruto and said "you should let me paint your cute face for when you move on from our ranch naruto"
Naruto smiled at her and said she could paint him when he had the free time to read the books she brought him to read. He enjoyed reading and always has and it was a good reason to see yakumo for a new book even if he just got bored of it.
Yakumo wore a blue dress and white hat on her head, her long brown hair was done into braids and Naruto only thought she somehow managed to become prettier than when she first saw her.
Konoha had one sallon a bank, a doctor's office and a sheriff's office along with a small hotel near the stables. Naruto accompanied Yakumo into the genral store. The town was alot more cloured folk than Naruto first imagined. Most towns Naruto liked when he was in Hank town in the wyoming a town so white seven cowboys chased him for three days just for coming into the general store whose owner made Naruto walk out at gunpoint.
The owner of the general store was named Ben Westmore a tall black man with a large afrow of black hair naruto never seen hair like that and thought it was mighty cool even telling Ben so while he and yakumo were buying naruto new choltes benson james helped yoda and anruto laod up the wagon when they were done two men walked up to them and said
"Looky here Fuki Yoda came into town from monkey ranch uh, i reckon we ought to beat the crap out of him uh fuki" said a tall man with eyes that looked liked a shark more than human eyes the other man was more human but hid his face under a bandana this all happened when naruto finnished tying his orange bandana around his neck
"Get lost Hanzo Hoshigaki and Fuki Hozuki we ain't got the time for your brand of trouble." yoda said
James looked around and went inside the store. Naruto walked over and asked if there was a problem hanzo sized up naruto on the spot and said "yeah there's you must be working at the monkey bar when there is only room for one cattle bar in this valley i reckon you should get to mosing on out of town if you know what's good for ya" naruto hand hovered over his gun and Fuki said "i won't if i was you boy i don't need to clear leather to kill ya" he said making his hand into a finger gun dropping his thumb and shooting a ball of water out the fingertips of his hand gun into the air.
"Neat trick fuki now the shows are over and we're moving on right, naruto, i reckon you can make yourself scarce by the time we get to the wagon" yoda said hoping for there to be no trouble but not native enough to think they will go without hassel.
"Why don't you boys go back to the kunai saloon and drink yourself stupid again today instead of troubling good folk" Ben said with a duoble barrel shot gun in his hand "or i'll kill hanzo and make you run off as a puddle again fuki like when that shooting at the boken neck saloon happened, now make your selves scares boys"
Hanzo started to laugh "you think you're big and tough? Uh old ben i ought to kill your (N word) ass right here and now ya old coot" fuki said ben eared back his shotgun's hammers and aimed for hanzo head.
"I'll still kill hanzo then you get to explain why one of those hoshigaki are dead in a pine box" hanzo bend over laughing then lowered fuki arm "ain't no need for anyone to die here fuki lets go get ourselves a drink and relax uhn'' then he looked naruto in the eyes should our pathes cross again i'll call you out and kill you dead whiskers'' then he walked off with fuki back to the saloon. Yoda thanked Ben for stepping in and he said it was no trouble. Naruto quickly notice the look on yakumos face she was scared by what happened through the uzumaki said nothing as he climbed onto the back of the wagon and rolled a cigerette with the tobacco he bought from the general store, then he smoked and watch the clouds as the wagon rolled out of town.
