Chapter 2:
Beast Boy was depressed. He just knew that it was Terra that was making the breathing noise. It just had to be. Robin said it was just the wind. But the wind made a whistling sound, didn't it? Beast Boy was confused. Maybe he wanted Terra back so much, that he was beginning to hear things. He decided to go back. He would go back and everything would be as it should be. There will be no breathing, no whistling wind, Terra will be a still, silent, lifeless statue, just like she should be. Some how, his plan didn't seem much better.
Beast Boy was at the cave, and everything was as it should have been. The cave was quiet, and Terra was lifeless. Beast Boy had mixed feelings. He was glad he wasn't hearing things, but somehow, he wished he were.
"Oh Terra, why can't you be alive again? I miss you." Beast Boy sat down in front of Terra, put his face in his hands, and closed his eyes in the silence. Then, he heard something. What was it? It was soft, but loud. It sounded like, a heart.
"Bump bump. Bump bump." It went. It was, it was a heart beating. Beast Boy heard the beating of a heart.
"Oh no, not again. Am I just hearing things again?" Beast Boy walked up to Terra and put his ear up to her chest and listened. He heard the beating, and it was loud.
"You are alive in there! I was right about the breathing and know I can hear your heart! Wait till the others hear. Man will they feel dumb." So, off he was again to go seek the aid of the rest of the Teen Titans.
Getting the titans to the cave was the easy part. Beast Boy just rushed in and started screaming about how Terra's heart was beating and he needed their help. But when they got to the cave, no matter how quiet they were, they just didn't hear any beating. The heart had stopped.
"I'm telling you that I heard her heart beating! I heard it loud and clear!" Beast Boy exclaimed. Raven went over to were Beast
Boy said he had been sitting and closed her eyes. Then she opened them again.
"It's quiet in here. Very quiet. You could have easily heard your own heart beat." She explained.
"Then how do you explain the fact that when I put my ear to Terra's statue, I heard and felt her heart?" Beast Boy wondered. Robin walked over to the statue and listened to were the heart should be. Nothing.
"Your under stress." He said. "You probably just thought you heard her heart beating."
"But, but, I could have sworn that I heard…"
"Come on, lets get out of here." Robin led the titans out of the cave. But Beast Boy took one more glance backward at the lifeless Terra, and felt a lump form in his throat.
