Disclaimer: Don't own
Hey you all. I found this on a floppy disk. I think it was one of my first one shots. It not long and it's sad so, here ya go.
Burning Desire
"Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley. This was found near her body. Do either of you know what it means?"
It was late at night and all of Gryffindor tower was awake. Hermione Granger was dead. Suide they were calling it. Why she would ever kill herself was a mystery. She was found on her bed, wand in hand, by Lavender in her room. She had cursed herself while the others were at dinner. The rest of the school was yet to find out.
Both boys looked down at the letter in their hands. It was a poem. It was covered in tearstains and some of the writing was hard to read because it was wet. Their faces fell as they read:
I have a desire.
No more like a burning Desire.
It lives deep inside of me.
I can't live with it
And
I'd die without it.
It will never go away,
Never get better,
Always getting worse.
I will die with this desire.
This burning Desire.
This desire will one-day be my death.
With that I die because of you.
You burning desire that is
Draco Malfoy.
Both boys had tears in their eyes as they finished Hermione's poem. They were both trying not to run off to find Malfoy and ask him what he did to Hermione and then kill him. But little did they know he was already dead because of a desire, a burning desire.
It was in the Great Hall the next morning that Dumbledore told the rest of the school.
"Ladies and gentlemen. Can I please have your attention?" All chatter stopped as all eyes turned to the Headmaster.
"It was discovered early last night that Hermione Granger is now dead." Gasps were heard all over the hall. Many broke down in tears. Others looked of to Harry and Ron to find they were both missing from their table.
"Now, also Mr. Draco Malfoy was found early this morning dead out by the lake." Now all eyes traveled to the Slytherin table to see that in fact Draco was gone. More cries came, mostly from Pansy Parkinson.
"We have no idea if these deaths are linked in anyway. So as a result of these events classes are canceled today. May they both rest in peace in a happier place. That is all."
