The island was under attack. It shook as the cannon balls hit the island hard causing the ground to break beneath there pressure when they the the ground. The air was filled with the shouts and commands from the Marines there voice where barely audible over the cannons that fired and the loud crashing sounds of the cannon balls hitting the ground. The water raged seemingly angry that people where fighting in her oceans, lightning and thunder sounded through the sky lighting it up.

The island was surrounded by multiple Marine ship and there was no escape no matter what they all wouldn't be getting out of this alive, but they where only really after one man.

Monkey. D. Luffy…. The pirate king.

They wanted that man gone. They saw him as nothing more than a threat to the government and a devil. The blood running through his veins seemed to make him less than human.

Luffy stood on a cliff watching as the ships got closer and closer. His black and gold captains coat flowing wildly in the strong winds. He knew this was the end for him and he would expect that, he's known this would happen the moment the set sail when he was seventeen. But he'd be damned if he let his crew fall with him.

Luffy turned around to look at his crewmates. The all looked ready to fight to the end. Each ready to draw there own respected weapons if needed or is Luffy told them too. He smiled at them slightly. What did he do to have such loyal crewmates. "You all should go, I'll distract them, there only here for me anyway" Luffy told them watching as each of the reacted there faces turning from battle ready faces to those of shock, anger and confusion.

"What no!" Sanji shouted his hands clenched into fist at his sides. "I agree with the shitty cook where not leaving" Zoro said receiving nods of agreeing.

Luffy looked at his crew he hated to do this, he hated pulling this card but…

"Leave. Captains Orders" Luffy commanded catching all of them off guard, he rarely commanded them to do anything and pull the captain card.

"But Luf-" Nami got cut off by Luffy. "Leave. Don't make me repeat myself, you hear me!" Luffy snapped they Marines where getting closer and closer and if Luffy didn't get them to leave soon they wouldn't be able to leave.

Nami looked down her hair shadowing her eyes. All of them where upset, angry but they didn't want to ignore a order even if it was one none of them wished to follow.

Luffy sighed he saw the hesitation in them but they didn't have time for this he needed them to leave. Now. "Please. My last order to all of you is to leave and live" he told them while smiling at them. Showing them that he didn't fear death, that he didn't fear what was goi g to happen to him. Death has been something he hasn't really fear since he was seven.

He crew seemed to get the message they nodded and turned to leave. "Aye aye Captain" was said as they all set of tears falling down there faces as they left there captain to his demise.

Luffy watched as he crew vanished from sight, he didn't have long left. He sighed turning back around facing the cliff again. He's been sighing a lot lately he noted absently. "Torao I know your there, you can come out now" he called watching as some of the Marine ships reached the island. His time was running out and fast, he needed to hurry.

Law came out from behind some trees his Nodachi lent against one of his shoulders like usual. Luffy saw him and smile "you shouldn't be here" he comment knowing Law knew this as much as he did, if not more but the older male seemed not to care.

Law just walked closer to Luffy his hat shadowing his eyes. "Do you have to?" He asked he knew the answer and he didn't like it but he asked anyway. "Yes, I do" he lowered his head, what was he expecting he knew that that was the answer he just hoped Luffy would be unpredictable once again and prove him wrong. There weren't many times that Law wanted to be wrong but this was one of them. One he really really wanted to be wrong. It all felt like a bad nightmare.

"You should go" Luffy whispered, he didn't want Law to see him die he also wanted Law as far away from the Marines as he could get.

Luffy noticed that Law made no movement to leave. He didn't want to shout at Law, he really didn't. "Please" he voice broke slightly. He didn't care he was going to die but he did care that if Law didn't leave then Law would die by his side.

Law didn't move to leave but he didn't lift his head and turn to face Luffy. "Luffy-ya…" he began but seemed at a lost for words or maybe it was because he had so much to say but so little time that he didn't know where to begin and where to end.

Luffy didn't give Law time to say anything knowing that if he let the surgeon then Luffy would do something stupid. He took off the straw hat that had been with him for so long now that he'd forgotten what it felt like without it. Law watched as Luffy gripped the straw hat looking at it before looking up into his eyes. He held the hat out towards Law "Torao give it back to shanks please and tell him I wouldn't be needing it anymore" he said, Law took it with gentle hands looking at the hat nodding.

Luffy looked away turning to look at the sky. "If we meet again and I don't remember make me remember, make me remember everything…Law" he didn't turn around to see Law reaction he didn't need to he kinda already knew the reaction.

"Luffy-ya pleas-" Law was begging and Luffy could hear it in the man's voice. Law never begged no matter what and here he was begging Luffy for something he could do. "Please don't make me Law" Luffy said his eyes watering.

Law took a step forward intending to reach out for Luffy to pull him towards him so he could keep him close. So he could save him even if he knew that he couldn't.

Luffy took a step back as much as it hurt him to do so. "Torao… leave this is an order" Law never took orders from anyone and the only person he'd ever let give him an order was the man in front of him. He'd swore his loyalty to the straw hat pirate then he became king. "As my first and last order" Luffy took a deep breath before speaking again "leave and live. Not just survive Torao but live"

Now how could Law not listen it wasn't just an order it was a last request.

So with his own eyes watering but he refuses to let the tears fall he kelt down in front of Luffy much like he did when he swore loyalty to him when he became king. "Aye aye" and with that he stood back up and turned running as fast as he could away before the Marines caught him. Disappearing into the trees as the Marines came to the cliff where Luffy was.

Thunder rung through the air covering up what he assumed was Luffy death. It began to rain as Law made his great escape but it didn't bother him it only helped in covering up the tears than ran down his face. It seemed even the world was crying at the loss of such a great man.

On the five of May a twenty six year old Law shot up in bed tears rolling down his face "Luffy-ya"
